I decided to start a build thread so i can keep track of all my modifications. I am a mechanical engineer, and have everything laid out in spreadsheets (of course), but tend to forget to update them as i purchase parts. So ,I figure this way i'll track it much easier.. that's the plan anyways.
I'm titling it my SC to CO build b/c the wife and I live in SC, but we travel to colorado every summer (for hiking/backpacking/jeepin) and a couple times each winter (for snowboarding and cross country skiing). (we also go to Utah each year, but that's not part of the name). We are also hoping to move out to Colorado within the next couple years, so that's why i'm calling it my 'SC to CO" build!
I've currently ordered a 2015 JKUR (white). I placed the order on 7/25 and the VOTS statuses say it should be delivered this week or early next..
2015 JKUR White
6 Speed manual
Freedom 3 Piece Hard top
Heated Seats (for the wife)
A/C with auto temp controls
Alpine Stereo Upgrade
That's it. I previously had a 2012 JKUR (Black forest green) that i put a 4' full traction LA Lift on, 37" KM2's, 4.88 gears, PSC rockers, etc on.. I sold it last year to get into road racing and build a boss 302R Race car... I love every minute of it (and u guys just THINK jeep tires are expensive), but i still miss my JK. So, i pulled the trigger on another one, and here we go.
ARB Stubby Bull Bar
ARB Intensity Lights
Expedition ONe front skid plate
PSC Brawler Rockers and Liners
Teraflex 1.5" spacer lift (only for breaking in engine during first 3,500 miles)
Warn 9.5cts winch (actually took it off my 12 JK before selling)
sPOD (from Rebel Offroad)
Arctec LCA Skids
ARctec Gussets for dana 44
EVO Axle Sleeves
Teraflex 3" Full 8 Flex arm suspension
teraflex Front and Rear track Bars
Teraflex 3" Speed Bump Kit
King Reservoir Shocks (from EVo)
35" Tires (either BFG KM2's, Nittos, or Toyos)
17x9 ATX Wheels (Ravines)
4.56 Gear install
ARB Diff Covers
AEV Rear Tire Carrier & Fuel Caddy
AEV Corner Guards
AEV Heat Reduction Hood
Gobi Roof rack
Baja Designs Rock LIghts, and LED's for Gobi
Rock Hard4x4 Skid Plates
The goal is to build a fully capable JKUR that rides nice and is capable offroad. More of a dual purpose rig, that i can drive from SC to CO for snowboarding, wheeling, backpacking, etc and drive back with zero issues. (last jeep on 37's was great, but not so much fun to drive across country, even though it did get about 16 mpg still with the 3.6, 4.88's, and 37's). Once the engine and drivetrain are broken in (around 3,500-5,000 mile mark), i will begin the suspension install.
Stay Tuned! I'll start posting pics as soon as it's delivered and again when i start installing the mods (both already purchased, and future purchases).
Hope ya'll enjoy it!
