traded my 14 jkur for a new left over 2016 JKR On 1/31/17.
Today my new build starts. I have 100 miles on it and just waiting for UPS to deliver my AEV 2.5" lift today.
I pulled lots of mods off my 14 and they have been added or will be added. Trucklite LED's are already in as are Grabars and my Teraflex hinge and spare carrier. All three have now been on 3 jeeps and all have been some of the best mods I have made.

These were all take offs from my last jeep. All have been very worthwhile mods.

I thought I would be installing my AEV lift today but Northridge accidently shipped me two sets of front coils and no rear coils (I realize things happen and NR4x4 has awesome customer service) so that will be delayed by a day..
I don't want to put my bumpers on until I get it lifted or it will look like a low rider.
Gas tank skid is supposed to be here but it has been sitting in Illinois according to UPS tracking since Friday. So not sure what's up with that. I pulled my rear lower control arm skids of my old jeep and just waiting for the paint to dry on those and have some new front lower skids on the FedEx truck getting delivered today.

Thanks, no Lithia. The GM is my new neighbor. The only reason I did it was he offered me a deal I could not refuse. $2500 difference and I kept most of my mods. I had to leave the lift and some stuff but pulled bumpers, winch, grabars, hinge, lights, flex links various little doo dads etc. My thermostat had developed a leak and I went in to get a ts and walking back to my jeep there was a new white 2 door rubicon I stopped to look at window sticker and rest is history lol. I still can't believe they made the offer there were two offers total, Ryan my neighbor initially said $4500 diff and I said I would think about it because it actually sounded good. I went back with my wife towards closing time (jan 31) took it for a drive. I said I just could not do it as I had too much into my jeep he said what would it take I said 2500 diff and I get to keep bumpers lights hinge etc he said "done". It was totally crazy.

sure is nice working on something that has a 100 miles on it. got the fronts on in 2.5 hours NR4x4 rocks and are over nighting a set of rear coils. I bought two cans of fluid film and when I am done it is going to get the treatment.

I just really wanted a two door. I hope I don't regret it. It feels like a sports car right now.

I did so far but I need to install my bumpers and gas tank skid and my rear bumper is about 90 lbs. My front is a light combo TPT bumper and vR10000S winch so hopefully I wont be dragging tail.

I am at 22" measuring the front shocks and a bit over 8.5" at the rear using these charts.

Thanks. So far so good, I told the wife I was done and she rolled her eyes and walked away. funny how after only 30 years she has me figured out already.

I measured front and rear axle shift and front is under 1/2" and not at all visible to the naked eye so not going to mess with an adjustable track bar for a while yet. The rear is less than a 1/4" so pretty happy all the way around. Oh and no real jeep lean yet. Front and rear about 3/8" lower on the passenger side full tank of gas so I am elated with that.

You just need to emphasize to her about how much money you saved by getting to reuse your old mods. :) I'm anxious to see how the new springs will handle the extra weight of the steel bumpers and skids. Looks pretty tough as is....

She tells me to quit "saving us so much money" lol.

I did save a bunch tho but keeping lots of my old parts.

added some skids to LCA front and rear and gas tank skid. Gas tank skid was one thing on my last one I wish I would have added right away.

swapped the front and rear bumpers and the muffler today. tomorrow I am throwing in some jks exhaust spacers and in a week I will be getting a RE tranny skid and that is all until I get back from Moab. It really rides nice on the road. Hope off road does as well. Should get it on the ramp this week to at least see if it will flex. the weight of the bumpers brought it down about 1/2" in back and less than a 1/4" in front.

:). I used them for shims for holding up my rear tailgate when removing the hinges to install the teraflex hinge. I promise I'm nota hoarder lol.

installed a set of JKS exhaust spacers. Might have been the easiest thing I have done. Less than 1/2 hour. No need to loosen the 15mm Y-pipe clamp bolt and no need for a pry bar to make space for the spacers. The exhaust literally slid back enough with hardly any force. It was like it wanted to be moved back that far normally. The JKS spacers are well machined and fit perfectly.

Rough Country sway bar motor skid. cheap insurance.

it was, you should have pulled in.

Hey Jeff, considering flats and less bump stop down the road?

#36 ·
I will see how Moab goes. I really like the stock flares and always regretted going with the bushwackers. If I get any it will be Metal Cloak and of course I need to save a while :). I have close to 400 miles on it and really like how it handles on the road. I am also really liking the aFe scorpion muffler. It sounds perfect to my 58 year old years.

decided to protect the auto tranny lines and pan and installed a Rubicon Express skid plate. I have read some people have had trouble mounting them but mine went on easy peasy. dropped the cross member and had lots of room to install the rear bracket and the front bracket has nothing in the way.
