I'm new to Jeep's and have been a Toyota Land Cruiser guy for years.
This is my old 1978 Toyota FJ40, which I sold, when my youngest daughter was looking for colleges and I started seeing the $. It awesome and I miss it.

When I was back in the market for a toy, I looked at a lot of different 4x4's and thought the JKUR had everything that I wanted, so I ordered the 2016.

This is what it looked like the day I brought it home.

On the way home from the dealer, I stopped at a tint shop and had the front windows tinted to match the rear. I like it, but wish it was as clear looking 'out' as the rear factory tint does...its kinda dark.

I wanted some grab handles, so after looking around, and a lot of research... I decided on Carolina Metal Masters and their about 1 hour from me, so thats good. These are solid as a ROCK..zero flex when using them. Highly recommended.

Since I was going to be adding a lift and 35's, I wanted a tire carrier that could handle them without me having to worry about the weight. So I installed the Teraflex HD Tire Carrier.

Here it is with the lift (Teraflex 2.5 coil lift) and wheels (ProComp Predator) and tires (Cooper STT Pro 315/70-17) installed.

I recently had brown santa drop the TNT Adventure steps/sliders off, so I took them to a local powder coater and had them attempt to do a clear powder coat..the baking process darkened them for sure, but I like the look.

When they were dropped off

After powder coating and installed.

More to come in a few weeks.

I'll post a few more when I get home. Out on motorcycle trip in the mountains right now.

Thank you for selecting our skid plates!
Your welcome, they look great...can't wait to get them on. Now if you would offer a centered winch opening on the aluminum bumpers, that would be great too and I'd likely order one. I'm looking at front bumpers as well, likely stubby or mid.

Nice build Diggity! I run the Rock Hard aluminum skids...love how they fit, and the fact that they are aluminum helping me keep the weight in check:thumb: Keep up the great work!

Good to hear. Thank you.

Confused on your bumper question. Our fairlead cutout in or lowered bumpers has always been that design since new winches like the Zeon came out. It's the safe average of the 2 fairlead styles out there. This way our bumper will work with all winches. Winch still spools perfectly.

I've read enough, I think, to realize that an offset slot for the winch line on the lowered bumpers is your current offering. My comment was that if you offered a centered opening, I would be interested in a bumper as well. There are a number of folks on here that feel the same for what it's worth. It would be good to offer an option for centered.

While I'm certain it works fine, it's offset, not centered...I'd love to see centered as an option on the aluminum bumpers. Hope this helps.

Enjoy the recovery with the new Rubicon.

Diggity - Condolences on the emotional loss of your 1978 Toyota FJ40, but you seem to be taking great comfort in your modern-day Rubicon. Enjoy the recovery with the new Rubicon. Well done photo story. :happyyes:
