Thought with all the recent changes and adds to my JKU recently it was time to combine them all in one thread. this is my first Jeep. im a long time Toyota guy and so this was a big leap for me to purchase a jeep. my brother @deekum1627 is on his second jeep and pushed me toward making the move. so far i have to say im really enjoying it.

I purchased it used october 2015. it already had a 3.5"aev lift smitty sliders, LOD rear bumper and carrier. smitty gear bags. led windshield lights. i thought ill never have to do a thing to this jeep its all set already.. HA.. after driving it a few months the way i bought it i realized a few things. 1 the windshield lights were wired incorrectly and poorly. 2 the aev lift while it had street manners and i was happy with the ride sagged in the back and i grew more and more annoyed with the stance. 3. the lod rear carrier and bumper while a solid setup and nice quality was not my cup of tea. for 1 it weighed a wich contributed to the sag and 2 off rd the carrier rattled and squeaked and drove me crazy.

here a few pics of its first offroad adventure befor i made any changes to it.

so i set out to change the jeep and make it my own.

first thing i did was sell the rear Lod setup and ordered an Olympic Boa rear bumper and Rugged Ridge carrier. i love this setup not only did i shed about 80lbs from rear of my jeep it doesn't rattle!! and the tailgate opens much more smoothly. i highly recommend the RR carrier.

I realized the AEV setup was never quite going to sit the way i wanted without rear spacers so i did some research and decided im switching all the AEV out for Metalcloak suspension. i also upgraded the factory hardware on control arms and swaybars to shouldered grADE 8 9/16" BOLTS this eliminated some popping sounds i was chasing along with tightened up the steering feel up front. Ill be doing this in phases as funds allow. first step was springs shocks and front outboard shock mounts. the shocks are bds tuned fox 2.0 for 4-6" of lift. to accommodate for the additional travel of the new MC springs.

here is a shot of the diff in old vs new for rear.

a few install pics..

front install..

and finally the stance i was looking for. i gained an extra inch in rear and front about 1/4". the new springs are longer unsprung than the aev's.

The BEST part of the new setup beside the stance...THE RIDE... it rides amazing. i thought i was happy with the AEV ride quality. these springs and shocks soak up bumps in the rd like there not there. its a dream. i cant say enough good about the quality of the products and the ride i have now. i look forward to upgrading the rest of the suspension.

Beautiful Jeep! Don't you just love when you think you have it just the way you like it, then just a bit down the road everything changes, and you start modding everything? Can't wait to see pics once the new front bumper is on.

Look what arrived today! Best packaging job i have ever seen. This thing was wrapped in like 4 layers of diff materials with rubber on ends of it. A+++ not bad for 295 off ebay. Ordered it from e auto grilles ebay store.

Small Update added the Jeep black fuel door this morning. Should be standard on a jeep in my opinion.

Been a while since ive updated this but added a small mod today. Wild Boar grab handles. Installed in 10 minutes and i love them. Very rigid and in perfect position to pull yourself up into the jeep.
