I just purchased my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JKU back in May. I am crossing over from the world of Mustangs. I traded my mustang in for this. I don't know much about 4x4's but I've been around cars pretty much my whole life so hopefully I'll grasp it quick. This will be my DD but I also want to be able to go wheel in around sometimes when I have time.

I'm looking at the normal things that I've read about. A Teraflex 2.5" lift w/ shocks, Nitto Trail Grapplers 35x12.5r17 tires on stock wheels w/ spacers, bumpers, winch, and just whatever. I know cars can get obsessed over but I want to take my time and do things right. I love this thing and don't want to screw it up some way by doing something half ***.

Things I've done to it already are:

- JEEP floor mats
-Grab handles (hand me downs from my dad)
-Spiderweb shade
-Side mirrors

This will be a slow process, and more for me so I can document what I do to it. Any input will be greatly accepted!!! Enjoy!

Today was the first day I had it completely naked... Minus the spiderweb shade (that's never coming off, I love it)

And to update... I don't plan on a 2.5" lift with 35s right now. I am going to do the TF leveling kit and 33s... Prob duratracs on stock wheels w/ spacers. I have the 3.21 gears so I'm going to have to swap gears before I go to 35s. So I'm going to do 33s then later down the road I'll swap prob 4.56 and get my bigger lift with 35s.

So I ordered Goodyear Duratracs, 285/70r17 and they came in today. Tomorrow I am going to have them installed. I also went to 4 wheel parts yesterday and picked up a set of G2 1.5" whee spacers and a Smittybilt spare tire relocation bracket. Here is the spacers installed on stock wheels and tires.

I'll post more pics after I get the tires installed tomorrow.

Alright so I know I said next is my lift but I went out on the trail for the first time today and I know in one spot that I was at a steep decline and I could tell that if I knew what I was doing it would have been better. So after researching about disco's & airing down I knew it would have felt more comfortable going down that decline if i had the tires aired down and the front sway bars disconnected. I'm eager to go back. I just bough my 33" GY Duratracs but I'm already trying to talk the wife into letting me get discos's, skid plates, and rocker guards because i felt I NEEDED those out there.

I always thought I was going to my lift next but realized today I didn't NEED a lift rather I NEEDED skid plates and rocker guards and the ability to air down.

So my next upgrades are going to be some sort of on-board air and rocker guards and skid plates.

Here are some pics of my rig at kaena point, Oahu, Hawaii today.

Pulled the wheels off, backed off the wheel spacer nuts and retorqued everything back down. Wasn't able to really go drive it today but we'll see if the noise goes away tomorrow.

Going to paint the muffler black as my next project. Also ordered my shorty antenna off amazon for $16.
