This was my 2012 JKU Sahara when I bought it. It was my first Jeep. I have always wanted a Wrangler, so this sorta fulfilled my boyhood dream. I wanted an Arctic edition at the time, but a sage old jeeper told me of the joy I would have build my own. He also taught me the "Jeep wave" and helped me overcome the trepidation of cutting or drilling into a brand new $30k Jeep.

I planned the mods in two phases. As it will be my daily driver and to gain confidence in my abilities, most of the first mods were superficial. However, I plan more trail oriented mods down the road a bit. I have been working on it for some time now and have been loving it. I have been following many of the posts in here, and have found them very helpful. Springtail's J8 and the Celticon have both been inspirational.

One last thing. My love of the arctic led me to try a cold weather theme. Hopefully you will see that develop. I'm my family's tradition I named my Jeep. For any Top Gear fans, I love my Jeep and shall call him Oliver!

I had the dealer swap the wheels with some he had on another Sahara on the lot. I'm sorta proud I did my first mod for a straight swap at the dealership. Maybe I'm a Jeeper after all!

I'm an Arkansas redneck at heart and took Oliver exploring an old creekbed the first week I had him. It was a blast, but I did learn the need for grab handles as the freshly detailed leather back seat nearly sent my 70 year old mother into the creek!

I'll cull my hard drive for pics to get the thread up to date, and add to it as I continue Oliver's journey.

I found some old pics right after I had the rocker panels rhino sprayed. I had my jeep less than a week before I decided I wanted a more two tone look. I loved the idea of adding something tougher than a standard paint job. It was much more economical too. I think the rear bumper, steps and rocker panels came in under $200. With the rhino liner lifetime warranty!

I was totally surprised how little there was to the rear bumper. Might be a future mod.

I also added rear brush guards and fuel cap!

SPOD on board! This has got to be the best piece of equipment ever. Pricy, for sure, but amazing! I also added a set of air horns as a sort of throw back to my first car.

Keeping with the Arctic edition's inspiration I wanted a hood with a black insert. There were several decals and louvres out there, but I kept going back to the look of the aev hood. I finally pulled the trigger and had a local body shop paint the heat sink portion of the hood. The black insert went back to the hinges so I had to strap the stock hood down until they finished the new one.

It was totally worth it. I hadn't seen plasti dip yet or I might have tried that and saved some serious $$! I love the way it turned out though.

I also added some sound/insulation to the hardtops. It made a huge difference in road noise.

Looking good!

I bought my Arctic Edition last summer and have been in love ever since. Like you, I also wanted a Jeep since childhood and it was now time to capitalize on that dream. The Commando Green '13 I was going to buy was sold that morning I arrived to get it but found this on the lot instead. Needless to say, mods were added.

Thanks, brother. The white interior w/ the Yeti Badge definitely stood out for me, too. I love everything about it.

I got an sPOD coming in tomorrow and will be installing a new 50" light bar this weekend (provided I get my mounting brackets color-matched in time).

Mods, mods, mods... aren't they endless??

I hope the weather holds here in AL to get you sPOD on. I was thinking about the 50" light bar but have put it on hold. I got the best top high access front bumper for Christmas with a q9500i wench. I had a Chinese 20" bar on the stock bumper. That thing is awesome. Light up the night. I can only imagine what the 50" will be like!

My dad does classic cars and has a guy that does custom badges. He gave me a break and did a great job on my Antarctic badge!

He also did a slightly different take on the trail rated badge. I thought about something zombie themed, but with all the gov shutdown crap this year an econoapaclypse seemed much more realistic.

20" led bar. It is insanely bright. I also got a go light. Looks like it belongs on a boat, but I'm thinking of making a mount on the driver's side and mounting 2 less on the passenger. I also had ordered a new bumper at this time. The bestop high access.

Nice looking Jeep. May I ask the name of the company/guy who did the badges? That will be good for future reference. Thanks!

I agree...I like the white on the Jeep! At least with the white you don't have to wash it as much, I have black & constantly washing it.

Both look good!

He did an awesome with the artwork. I sent a particular look, and he came back with a quote on mine, and a quote on something he developed off my idea. His looked much nicer and it was what I used!

Q9500i on a high access front bumper. Super easy install. I had to call q-tech to get the longer power cord, but they happily sent one out.

I also added the euro style brush guards and a rugged ridge grill insert I found on eBay.

Finally, I added some fog and long range lights I found on eBay. They were pretty cost effective, and I was leery. But they seemed pretty high quality. The beam pattern on the fogs was ok, and the long range lights put out some significant power. Not sure about the jeep 4x4 grills on them. But for now I'm gunna leave them on.
