Finally, after months of putting cash in a coffee can, I got my 2014 JK UNLIMITED RUBICON 4x4 in Anvil.

I purchased it on 12-16-2013 from Motor Village of Los Angeles. $39,000 plus tax, licensing, ect...

Now where have I seen a Jeep like that before? Hmmm...

Very nice rig. I just installed an AEV 2.5" lift (with geo brackets) after deciding between it or their 3.5" kit. With 315/70/17 Duratracs on black Savegres, it's as high as I'd want to go. I'm 6' and have to extend up a bit just for the 2.5" kit. Very happy with the ride and I'm sure you'd like either one.

You can get a prepainted hood from Quadratec. They matched the Anvil very closely on mine. Good luck with it!

It's getting a little long in the tooth having bought the Rubi and then a day latter having to leave town for a couple weeks! But I have been doing a ton of parts research so at least I'm getting something done. : )

I want to go with the Pintler wheels but which color would look best on Anvil with color matched fenders and top?? I seem to like the argent a lot but can't seem to rule out the other two.

I originally wanted the Pintler wheels from AEV as well. Then I saw all the threads about cracking...

https://www.google.com/search?q=pint...ient=firefox-a

Made the decision to go with a Savegre a bit easier!

I'll am definitely going to have to look into this!! I was also thinking about the hutchinson rock monster's but they are a little heavier then I might want. What do you think about the weight??

Funny, I was having a conversation with a fellow GT500 owner this evening regarding doing everything possible to lose weight with them but I find that all I do is add weight to my Jeep!

I suppose it depends on use. If your battles are fought mainly on the highway and rural roads then you'd be best off minimizing wheel/tire weight so you don't upset the balance engineered into the suspension in terms of frequency. If you are always in the wood's or the mud I suppose the added weight isn't as detrimental.

A cursory Google search shows the HRM's as being 10+ lbs more than a Pintler/Savegre (depending on whether beadlock or not). That seems like a lot of added weight, per wheel.

Just looked at a couple of photos of the jw speaker headlights installed and there is a gap that bothers me a little bit! Is this normal to have this gap around the lights??

Ok I'm back in town finally and can pay some attention to the Rubi! I just ordered the headlight revolution anti flicker harnesses and short antenna. Something small till I figure out exactly what way I want to go with this thing. I will also be painting the Crome rings around the headlights Black when the harnesses Get here.

I have the AEV 3.5" lift, I very happy with the ride and handling. Call and speak with the AEV techs, they were
great answering all my pre build questions.
Enjoy your build with what ever lift you choose.

Good luck!

Just got the headlight revolution anti flicker harnesses. They feel extremely sturdy and well built. I will be installing these and plastidiping the headlight rings black this afternoon.

Installed the headlight revolution anti flicker harnesses and painted the retainer rings black. Looks much better in my opinion and the flicker is GONE thank goodness.

Just received the antenna X 5" stubby antenna. Looks really clean and minimal. Install is as easy as unscrewing and re screwing the new one on. Signal is definitely affected on some stations unfortunately.
