Just use a flat tip screwdriver they have sealer tape around them once you get it started it will come off and you won't ruin the tape just go slow

Thanks for all the nice comments folks!!

Been pretty busy with the holidays and my work but here are a couple of quick mods I did:

Door sill gaurds and Safari Strap grab handle set. I also got a fire extingisher holder in the kit looking for the right extingisher now...

Still working on the CB mike holder and the Black Diamond Fabrication windshield mounts. My dually's arrived today so I need to get the windshield mounts painted!! The paint has arrived as well.

Thanks for the nice comments guys!!

Here's a before and after pic of my AEV 2" spacer lift and new shoes. I will try to get some better picks this week. Spent most the day today at my brothers house so I have to work on my honey do list tomorrow

FWIW the picture make it look like there is still a rake in the front because of his slooped driveway the front is actually sitting about 1/2" higher

Well after waiting a week to get some sunshine picks I gave up and decided to post these post lift/tire pics. It took my brother and I about 8 hours but we were in no rush and I am not a mechanic type at all luckily he is. I'm sure someone in the know could do this in a few hours under perfect conditions. I would also say that being a non mechanic I think with a decent set of tools I could have done this myself without to much trouble.

Tips for those planning to do the AEV spacer lift:

1) I read the directions several times the week before doing the lift which really helped me during the lift.

2) Some of the parts that you are told to loosen you are not reminded to tighten so make sure you check everything when you are done (I know common sense.) Or take notes as you go which is what I did.

3) 2012 JK's have heat sheilds that block the lower rear front control arm bolts We removed the screw and bent them out of the way which seemed to work fine.

4) Removing the brake lines from thier brackets sucks!! ...but start at the outside edges and work towards the middle insuring you do not crush the bracket

5) We removed the rear brake line bracket from the body floor it looked pretty stretched to us and was onlt two nuts

Overall the only complaint I have with the kit is the brake line solution of zip tying them to the shock come on AEV! Really?

Thanks dvdsjk I don't know if mine will ever be as unique as yours but I'm trying

BTW for anyone wondering I do have a matching spare just waiting on the Daystar tailgate bumpstops to come, they are back ordered.

Ok so after searching for a mount for my Cobra 75 I decided I would try to fab one myself. So I picked up a piece of metal and some paint and below is the end result. I Removed the handle on the pasenger side expecting to use those mounting screws in my design unfortunately that didn't work out so I ended up making a cutout that went around it instead. This took more time and several card board templates but I like the end result and should I ever remove it you will not know it was there. The grab bar can be cut with a utility knife but be careful it cuts easily and you want the bracket to fit the cut portion exactly as it holds it steady.

To remove the handle pull the two 40 Torx head screws holding the inlay in and then use something to pull it out. I went with a small screwdriver inside the removed torx screw opening. Then there are two screws holding the handle on.

Next up is a bracket to hold the mic plug not real keen on drlling a big hole in my dash

Great work on the mic mount. I'm planning on going with the 75 as well and had just planned to get the Cooltech versa mount, but I may just try to fab up something similar as you did.

Thanks 4fit!

Cooltech makes some great stuff I used their antenna mount and antenna. I didn't like the way their mike mount held out the grab handle and if you relieved it and then removed the mount it would show. As far as mine I have little to no mechanical ability but decided to try regardless. All it took was a piece of metal, a little paint, jig saw with metal blade, and a dremmel, but a file would have worked too. It took about 2 hrs and maybe $9

Na its safe and sound in my garage and my husky is laying next to me waiting for her walk. My guess is they were looking for a decent shot showing the green
DSOY I have not actually hooked it up still working on the bracket for the brain box hopefully this weekend.

Couple more updates:
I recieved my BDF Rigid Dually brackets and Rigid Dually's two for the windshield (spots) and one rear (see below) deffused. I also finally recieved my LoD sliders Unfortunately one of them has a pretty good gash in the powdercoat not sure how that will get resolved but at this point I hope I don't have to wait for a replacement as its already been 12 weeks. They were special order sans LoD logo's

Here are a couple of teaser shots. The brackets have BDF logo's laser cut into them and since I'm not into logos they are being filled. The windshield brackets will be BFG the rear textured black. Should have the slider and light install pcitures next weekend doing the install on the 18th. thanks for looking

This thread is fantastic Basecamper: subscribed.

What size tires did you throw on there? I can't find them looking back on this thread.

Cheers,

Thanks for the comments guys!

The tires are 285/75R16 the measure 11.3" x 33.1" according to GY

Busy catching up on client tax returns this weekend but should have the sliders, remaining CB work, windshield dually's, and rear defussed dually installs all complete next Saturday. Ordered my ORH soft top last week should get it in time for spring I figure probably mid to late April. This week I will be ordering my AEV bumper some Cibie headlights and a Rallylights harness which will probably take 2-4 weeks to arrive. More updates to come

Damn! Did you dip into some of those client's tax returns? That's a hell of an order list! Color me jealous!

No but now you know why I spent this weekend working, keeping up with the mod list isn't cheap

Perfect. I think that's the route I'm going to go. I was thinking 35"s but that involves more than I can put in in both time and money and I really like the look of the 33's on yours. Can't wait to see the bumper on your rig. Keep up the great work!
