Started pulling the Jeep apart Saturday emoving the bumpers and fenders. Started installing the Poison Spyder bumpers and fenders. The rear bumper was easy to install however the front bumper wasn't. It needed a little trimming which was no big deal. The problem I'm having is trying to fit my fat fingers in the bumper to install the eight mounting bolts. I managed to tighten 5 of the 8 bolts so far.
The fenders require over half a day to install but are stout when everything is attached properly.
Plan to finish up the fenders tomorrow and then install the ACE rock rails.
Maybe when I return home in May. I ran my 2011 JKU with the factory shaft and had no problems with the same lift. Granted it only went off-road a handful of times.
Here is a picture with the 4.5 AEV lift installed. The first picture shows the Poison Spyder Brawler Lite installed. I used Rustoleum Bed Liner spray to coat the bumper. This also shows the ACE rock rails installed. I also trimmed the factory rock rail to allow clearance for the 37" tires. Had issues with the fog lights on the bumper when wiping them one fell back in the bumper. The factory screws don't hold the fog lights very well. I may have to pull the bumper back off and reinstall with larger screws. This is a pain to remove and reinstall the bumer.
So after 3 full days of working on the Jeep and I mean extended days the majority of the stuff is installed. Here are a few pictures of the Jeep in its current state. Still need to add the factory inner fender liners back, need to reinstall the front fog light that fell out, hook up reverse lights, install seat recline kit, c gussets, nitro sleeves and ball joints.
One dilemma that I face is cut a hole in the hood and add the Poison Spyder hood louver or leave it out of the build? I have a hard time envisioning what my Jeep would look like with the hood louver installed. It's just sitting in the box waiting to be installed.
