Thanks birddogn! I have to run my wiring harness for the camera, hopefully this weekend I will have time. Very happy with the neat clean install of the harness and the camera location. The camera and CHSML brake light combo keep it up and away from road grime, well thought out by AEV.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on that too. Don't want any more rake due to the weight, but its pretty minimal. I'd be interested to hear if you notice a difference. The actual install should be 15-20 minutes, from what I've read. Good luck!

I hear ya on the additional weight...the skid ways in at 23lbs which is not too bad. I don't have any rake issues as I have not installed a winch yet, just the winch cover plate for now. I am wondering if any drilling is required on the skid plate install? I am hoping it will just bolt up cleanly, this depends on the year model of your JK from what I read in the instructions posted on line. We'll see, I will post up install pics next week during the install.

Fedex delivered my AEV skid plate…taking my time the seamless install took about 30 min. A great fit and finish and I am really happy with the finished look. Gonna have to stick a Warn winch in the gap..lol!

closer look-

Looks great, Billet. Glad to hear it was easy. Definitely need a winch in there. If you go Warn Zeon, PM me for modified instructions that will save you hrs and gray hairs!

Always having a pickup truck and now not having one, I knew a trailer was a must….so today my Aluma trailer came in handy on the trip to Lowes for a new barbecue gas grill. I am including a close up shot of my adjustable "Billet Silver" all aluminum adjustable hitch. The goal was to go as light weight as possible and this entire set up fit the bill. If you don't have a pick up in the stable…ya gotta have a "tail". If you need a trailer, as most of us do, consider an Aluma, light weight all aluminum, and all led lighting. Infact the fender led lights are nice and bright and at night I have a great view of each fender light in both side view mirrors. The trailer is the perfect width and it pulls like a breeze. I don't even know its back there. Love to add a set of Pintlers and larger tires…haha! This will do for now...

With 4" of lift from stock, the "Billet Silver" aluminum adjustable drop hitch fit the bill. It one serious block of solid aluminum and actually very light weight for its massive size.
The new grill traveled well and will be seasoned/broken in this evening with some "beast" tenderloin steaks HA!
Cheers!

Very nice set up! Get those Pintlers and lets get that trailer lifted! How do you like the folding gate? My Featherlite has one and it is nice to be able to tuck the gate down. You have a nice set up there!

Thanks Dmc1!
I do like the removable folding gate. I wish Aluma would produce an all aluminium expedition tent top ready style trailer. I might write them an email and offer the suggestion. They make trailers for just about every configuration.

Cheers!

those would be nice… only thing is, appears the tire mount for spare looks like it needs to be flipped to mount the spare from how the pintlers mount….

I am sticking with my Argent Pintlers.....very happy!
Ordered the Mopar aluminum fuel door. Might drop it off and have my local body shop shoot it Billet Silver ha!I like the idea of a color matched fuel door....seriously thinking about adding the AEV hood....I have been thinking of just ordering it
already painted Billet, no decals as I will have XPEL.com 3m paint protection covering the entire hood after install just like the stock hood is now. Google XPEL paint protection...a beautiful thing. Protects paint perfectly.

Alright Billet, it can be done. Got mine raised up and took the 13 inch wheels off. Got the new wheels and tires on. This thing is ready to go off road! I'll post a pic behind the Jeep later today. Wife said I have to cut the grass before I could play anymore! Have a great Saturday afternoon!

Awesome! I am looking forward to seeing it behind your Jeep! Did you do the work or have it done? This is really great news! Looking good Dmc1!

Hey that looks great! Well done and it's nice and level. It's hard to beat a light all aluminum trailer.

I had my jeep built by Rubitrux also. As my fifth jeep I couldn't be happier with the job they did. Your jeep looks great.

Mopar Jeep fuel lid...

Ok, so I finally caved and added the Mopar fuel lid…about 15 min to install. A few months back I also picked a Mopar ignition key matched locking cap. I decided not to color match the fuel lid Billet Silver as I wanted some contrast with the color matched fender flairs. But did opt to paint the aluminum fasteners black. In this photo if you look closely you can see a thin clear line where I had XPEL paint protection applied onto the rear fender well. This clear sheet of 3m paint protection keeps the gas cap from rubbing the paint when it lays on the fender flair during refueling. It works great and really protects the clear/coat and paint.

Cheers!
