Go Rhino bumper installed!

It's a very painless installation with good instructions.
Completely plug-n-play with no modification needed, except for having to splice/extend the fog light wiring to reach the end caps.
Speaking of, the 2017 LED fogs are just a hair too big to fit. The regular halogen fogs should fit just fine. So I need to get new fogs. Go Rhino suggest a couple of the Rigid Industries Dually or D Series and they have optional mounting plates available for those. So right now I'm running fogless until I figure that out.

The only other little thing I did was get rid of the logo plate.
I wouldn't have minded if the logo was subtly stamped into the bumper, but the plate is too gaudy IMHO. It was riveted on though. So I drilled out the rivets. Now I just need to add a little paint to the inside edge and plug them.

Overall I'm happy with the look and it feels like a real quality piece of kit.
Solid as a rock. It weighed in at about 140 lbs with all pieces, plug an extra couple pounds in hardware.
So we're looking at around 105 lbs heavier than the stock bumper which I weighed at about 38 lbs.

Here's a shot in mid-install.
You can see where a winch would sit.
The drawer is removed for the install.

Oh, and I'm working on getting some red shackles, too.

And here it is complete...

A little (ok a lot) of grinding with a tungsten bit on my dremel and I was able to enlarge the hole on the mounting bracket enough to fit the LED fog light.
And a little paint and some black silicone hides the rough edge.

When getting in the car you have to plug in the phone, it takes two hands, it's a hassle and it's messy looking. And I like the phone to be somewhat in view, not stuffed in the console.
I almost gave up though because I didn't like any of the options I was seeing.
I don't like the mounts on top of the dash. To me, they are ugly and too high.
I don't like any of ProClips solutions. Bad placement and again, ugly.
I didn't want it on the left pillar, that's too far from the radio and power source.
I didn't want to block any AC vents or the radio or any other controls.

Finally, I came across the VersaMount... typically used for CB radios.
This worked out perfect! Perfect placement, just right of the radio, it attaches to the left side of the passenger grab bar.
It takes up ZERO usable space.
The phone is in plain view but not blocking my view of anything.
And with the ProClip holder mounted to it, I can just get it, place it in the holder with one hand and it's now charging and has the direct connection to the radio for CarPlay.

This is the VersaMount.

In order to attach the ProClip phone holder, I had to remove the base from it and drill 4 new holes through the VersaMount.
Then use some 3/8" screws, nuts and two washers on each.

I didn't want the bright silver hardware to stand out so I just brushed on a little black automotive paint I had laying around.

And the final installed setup...

How stable is the mount when on the highway or uneven roads? I purchased a Panavise mount that attached to the HU bolts and it's vibrates like no other on the highway... thinking about doing a similar setup as you if the mount is stable.

It vibrates from the weight of the phone.
I cut a wedge of rubber and shoved it behind to brace it.
It's rock solid now, and you can't really see the rubber wedge. Only from the passenger side and only if you go looking for it.
