Deplorable RUBICON

My first JK build and pretty proud of the progress. Everything except the regear was done in my own garage by my own two hands.

Flew to Koon's to pick up a 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock on August 30. They had it waiting and ready for the drive back.

After a weekend at Jeepfest in Jasper, Georgia, started with the regear to 4:88s.

Only 1000 miles and the build is in process! This was the only time a lift was used for the entire build.

As soon as that was done, started installing the Metal Cloak 3,5" Game Changer lift.

The lift went smoothly , mostly anyway. So then on to painting the Crawler Conceptz bumpers and fenders.

I knew that first picture looked like it had a familiar backdrop--I bought from Koons also. Good looking Jeep and good luck with the build!

Just to back up, the build was centered around running 37s. Every effort was made to make sure this could be done with few future problems.

When it was regeared, also did C gussets, sleeves and control arm skids.

After the two day lift install, it was time to mount some tires!

And test fit the CC fenders

I really like the CC stuff. It's well made, fits nicely and seems very strong. Delivery was wayyyy slow however.

Front bumper painted and installed

Everything is beginning to come together now.

Time to do a couple test runs at Gulch's in SC and Beasley Knob in North Georgia.

The progress is slowing down, as I have to curb my expenses on this one. Got out of hand quickly! There are many things that I didn't document, but only a couple other things I really want to do currently. Next addition is possibly a big brake kit, like the Dynatrac ProGrip.
