I ordered this JKWW on 4/15/14 and it was delivered 6/2/14. I picked it up yesterday. I installed Rugged Ridge Rear Euro Guards and GTS Sportgard Ventvisors, and also a Quadratec cargo liner. I removed the backseat for more storage space. I have 18/60 springs and a Rampage recovery front bumper that will be installed sometime.
Hey Digger, I also have a set of 18/60s that I'll be installing, but I don't have my Jeep yet. When you get yours installed, do you mind letting me know how high your fenders are off the ground? Like measured from straight above the tire.
Also, are you changing anything besides the springs? I've read we're good with just the springs, and that everything else will work fine since it's just a minor lift, but I'd like to be safe and see what everyone else is doing.
If you don't mind me jumping in... You'll be perfectly fine just swapping the springs. You could have gotten lucky and had those springs installed at the factory. I've read tons of posts where people just changed the springs. :thumb:
Got the Rampage recovery front bumper installed this morning. It wasn't easy but I think it looks awesome! Getting the fog lights mounted was a pain in the butt. I had little room to get my big hands in there. Luckily one of my workers got it.
Make sure you check it for rock chips, too. As soon as you see one, make sure you hit it with something. Nail Polish might work well on the gloss finish.
Cool, thanks for the tip. I have a friend with a nice white Unlimited Sahara and he told me that he doesn't tailgate people so as to reduce the amount of stone chips. Something I never really thought of.
I bought some take-off 18/60 coil springs on ebay for $100 plus s/h that were on a 2104 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and put them on yesterday. Took about 4.5 hours. My stock springs were 14/56 so the 18/60 springs give me an extra inch of lift or so. I didn't take any measurements though. I really like how it looks. I'm even more impressed that I did it all by myself.
Thanks to Recontango who gave me some great tips. It was a PITA! Good thing I had various tools and an impact wrench. I also had to use the spring compressors once for the passenger side front springs. First pic is a side shot 'before' and the rest are 'after'.
Thanks. I took it for a test-drive today and the ride seems a little smoother. If I didn't have to get wheel spacers, I'd probably be looking at 285s to mount on the stock rims.
On ebay, I bought a "Hard Top Fast Removal Screw Fastener Kit for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007 through 2014" for $16.99 and free shipping. Installed them on Friday.
I was debating on which vent plate to get and decided on the ORFAB and found it on Amazon for $45 with free Amazon Prime shipping. Ordered it Sunday and got it today. After removing the vent, I put it on and then realized I should put some window screening over the vent slots to keep bugs out. (I've had problems with yellow jackets making nests in various spots on past vehicles) So I took it off and duct taped the screening on the back and then reattached it. I did like the Poison Spyder one and also there was a plain black one on ebay made by Rockridge 4wd but the free 2 day shipping and $45 cost were the deciding factors. (JCROffroad had one too with a neat flag design.) I also bought some rubber grommets to replace the tire stabilizers and the hole for the third brake light wire on the tailgate, but they won't arrive until this weekend.

My grille inserts were delivered this morning and it took about an hour to install them. [I had no idea the front grille is plastic, I thought it was metal lol.] After removing the grille, I just set up 2 sawhorses in my kitchen and put towels over them and laid the grille on it to install the inserts. Then I got them as level as I could and tightened them down. They were $40 with free shipping from e-autogrilles on ebay.
Thanks, have you added anything since your Trek Armors?
