DTra1n's 2014 JK Build Thread

Greetings!

My name is Daniel, I'm 26 years old and this is my first Jeep! No one in my family has ever owned a Jeep so I'm pretty excited to be the first.

I purchased a Bright White JK 6 Spd MT (23S package). I have the alpine pine stereo, trak lock, 3.73 axel, Alpine Stereo, 3- Piece Freedom Top, Power Group and Connectivity Group.

I'm coming over from the BMW community (bimmerforums). My last vehicle was a 2005 325xi (E46) that developed leaking piston rings at 131k. I also owned a '99 323is (E36) prior to that, which was a much better car, IMO, but was totaled due to a woman running red incredibly late on a blind intersection

Here are three pictures of my new Jeep and my prior BMWs! Can't wait to build up this Jeep correctly!

I have already made my first two purchases - the black Mopar fuel cover and the jeep door sills.

A hood lock, runners, and some off-road lights will be next.

Looks great, did you just use a small brush to paint in the letters?

Thanks. No sir, I used the painting technique outline here: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/che...od-197494.html

It's very simple, and the results are incredible. Painting with any kind of brush will definitely leave streaking. You don't want that. Here's a close up.

No off-road trips planned yet. I live close to the beach, but I'm reluctant to take the 2014 down on the sand.

I have also added a sweet tire cover.... and did a little compensating since we couldn't quite pull out the championship this year :/

So I've decided on some new wheels... I'm going for Pro Comp 7069s 17x9 and I'll have them powder coated white. Stay tuned for pics...

In the meantime, if anyone is in the market for genuine 2-piece BMW Style 71s powder coated in Sparkle Silver wrapped in Bridgestone Pole Position S-04s let me know :P

ProComp 7069 are nice wheels, but are you sure you wanna paint em white? IMO those wheels in black do look good on a white Jeep, but it's your ride. Also if you are going to put bigger tires you might want to look into lifting the jeep a bit so you have a better clearance. If you are not planning on off roading much coil spacer kits might be a way to go, they are inexpensive and retain stock ride quality.

Here's a couple updates for y'all. Short antenna, ace engineering rock sliders, rugged ridge tail light guards and some custom Carolina metal masters grab handles :P

P.S. I'm drunk as shit off some lime-a-ritas in my garage right now. Haha. Looking good, no?

Actually they really don't! They're very lightweight as well (billet aluminum).

Small world! My company did a bunch of work for Dow down there, and we're bidding on some new projects at the moment.

If we win it, I'm gonna try to get my ass down there.
