What cage do you have again? And my real question is how is the entry, and exit with the handles. Also, how is the view with the windshield bar and the low tint you have from the top. Last... what is the deal with the tint from the top? Is it tint, see thru, or pure black? Installed on inside?

Thanks!
Thanks man, yes I try to both use and abuse it, they are jeeps!

1-Rock Hard Roll Cage- highly recommend, it is nice having the handles for entry, and for passengers to hold onto while wheeling, the view out takes a day or two to get used to but it is definitely not a big deal

2-Tint-Its 20% tint on the inside, this is one of my favorite things, I never have to use my visors to block the sun and love the way it cuts the glare out from the sun

power steering pump bad

Just had my power steering pump replaced under warranty today, during the last wheeling trip at the Rock noticed it was getting a high pitch whine under acceleration and heavy turning. I'm going to give the factory set up one last hoorah, but from what I've been reading, it looks like I'll eventually be looking at a PSC RAM/hydro power steering setup. Anybody have any experience with that setup?

It's amazing that they replaced it under warranty and didn't try the "your 40's are putting so much stress on it that it caused it to fail" routine.

I just spent a few days reading through your entire thread man, really good reading. Great build, I like how you built what YOU wanted instead of what anyone else thought you should have. Nice looking rig man.

It amazes me how on threads like this people come out of the woodwork to throw stones and make nasty comments for no other reason other than they are jealous and want to appear like they are so amazingly skilled 4wheelers. Pathetic.

I have watched your videos and might suggest you try to take a good off road driving course. Your rig is amazingly capable and not many of us have the skill to make the most of that machine. Technique and skill will make your wheeling experience so much more safe, fun, and will save your equipment from damage. Not a knock, just an idea man! We can all be better drivers, shooters, mechanics, and whatever.

Enjoy!

Thanks man, haters come with the territory unfortunately. As far as driving I definitely learn something new every time I get it offroad and would love going to a full day instructional course with professionals. I took my M3 to the BMW course in SC and their instructional course with professional drivers was unbelievable!

I agree. Looks good man. I have a similar jeep build but no roll cage (& it's blk). Mines a DD so I leave the hard top on it.

I definitely like the direction that you went on it. The gecko green doesn't normally look all that great to me. But with your set up its pretty rad.

I would never do anything like that! But, what's to hate? It is a he** of a nice setup. I think one of the reasons it looks so great is the contrast between the green and the black.

I would look around your area and see what is available, I am sure there are some quality off road vehicle schools available.

My friend also took the SC course when he bought his BMW, he loved it but said they were pretty 'tight leashed' which makes sense considering the liability and all that. I know there is a good school at VIR for road racing and some other schools that focus on Rally driving. I instruct vehicle dynamics for Military Units on road, off road, and rally, and have seen how much a few days of instruction can help make you a better driver.

Good luck man, be safe

I think if there's ever an engine upgrade you'll be hearing a V8 rumbling before a super charger whistling!
