JGK200 Rubitrux/AEV Build

I wanted to share my recent build/conversion/bolt on ( whatever you wanna call it) thread. This forum as well as some others has been great source of information. There are some many awesome jeep builds on here... That it sometimes made it tough to make a decision.

I decided on having Rubitrux do my build.... Reggie Perry was great to work with... best customer service I've experienced in a long time! All The guys there are top notch ( Brad, Chris, Bryan ). I was going back & fourth on 2.5 vs 3.5 lift.. Reggie was great.. He was like " I have a lot of 2.5 & 3.5 in stock .. drive both when your down in Boone NC, then make your decision". I get down to Boone & pulled into Rubitrux & I see a white Rubicon w/ BMF Novakane Wheels... I didn't like them in pictures but, in person they are awesome... Reggie was like "no problem".. I'll switch them out if you want them or I can put the Pintler on one side & BMF on the other to see which ones you like better on your Jeep ( we didn't have to do that but, that was really cool offer)... I almost went w/ the BMF Wheels but, heard they may have some finish issues if you drive on salted roads....

I drove from Columbus OH to Boone NC & that was the longest trip I've taken in the Jeep in the 12months that I've owned it. The drive was a little over 7hrs & I averaged 18.5 mpg's w/ heat on & 70-75mph.... I was curious what coming home would be like with the 315's Nitto Trail Grappler's... Temp's had warmed up.. First half of trip had air condition on & then off for last half as temps were dropping... i averaged 17.8mpg @ 70-75mph... I was surprised... Thought it would be a lot less than that...

The build was scheduled for 2days & Rubitrux finished it more like a day & half... those guys are busy... they have build after build!!! Boone is very nice town to visit.. We spent first night there then went to Raleigh Durham to see family for a couple nights then back to Boone for a night.. Nice little getaway!!

I went with:
AEV 2.5 Lift
AEV Hood
AEV Front & Rear Bumpers & Tire Carrier/Fuel Caddy
AEV Rear Camera
AEV Black Pintlers w/ black lugs ( Need 3 more for spare.. mailing them to me when they come in)
Nitto Trail Grapplers MT's 315's... Aggressive!! Surprising quiet & smooth... we'll see after rotation...
AMP Power Steps.. They Family Appreciates These
SPOD... Billet Silver Should Get Kick Back From SPOD!!!
Rigid 20inch E Series Light Bar & 2 Rear Cubes.
JW Speaker Lights ( Drivers & Fogs)
Recon LED Tail Lights
Grill Insert
Rampage Hood Locks... Added These a couple months ago.. really like them
Stubby Antenna... Added about week after bought jeep
Spiderweb shade... still in box waiting to warm up here
Lange Power Lift... bought about month after I got jeep.. nice & easy!

I will say that the 2.5 lift looks bigger in person then in photos... that was one of my hang ups w/ it.. I couldn't tell by pictures how much it lifted up... In person.. you know it's been lifted... I don't have many pictures.. I'll add some as I go...

You Kidding Me .... That Commando Green Your Rolling On Is BadAzz!!! I'm Really Happy The Way It Turned Out.... 2.5lift is perfect for me... it's my DD & I Was Surprised How Much Bigger It Looks In Person Than In Photos... I've Only Been Home w/ Her For a Day... The Nitto's Are Awesome... I Was Looking At 2 Totally Different Tires.... The BFG AT's May Have Been a Better Choice ( for me ) But, Went With The More Aggressive Look At The Last Minute... So Far The Nitto's Are Quiet & Smooth!! I love The Look Of The AEV Hood But, Have Some Concerns About Water Leaking into Engine Compartment When Parked Outside For Extended Periods.. I Have Heard Water Freezing Onto The Alternator & Snapping Belts... I Believe Thats a Problem On V8 & Not The V6... I Was Told This After It Was Installed....Doh!!!! I Would Have Like To Add The Smoked LED Markers ( I Will At Some Point) But, I Blew My Budget & I Had To Cry Mercy......

DAMN!!!

That's a great looking jeep.. Clean and on point...

Getting my AEV kit installed in a week... I'm assuming your D2/rigid cubes in the back are controlled by your Spod?

And how's the back up camera working out for you?... My dealer is a AEV dealer but they still not have installed one yet... So I might be the test run for them... Just hope I don't get robbed on labor...

Again nice rig!!!

Very well done sir! I am glad everything worked out at Rubi Trux for you That is one very sharp AEV build....nothing like a complete custom AEV package making your Jeep your own. I am really liking the Pintler/tire package...perfect and the AEV hood beautiful. Brad and Reggie hooked you up. Both great guys to work with..enjoy my friend. Very happy with my Rubi Trux build, I think you will be as well.

Your spot on with your mileage...I average 17.9 on the super slab on a trip...not bad considering what your pushing in the wind Ha! Awesome bro!

Hey Thanks Squirrel Ops! The D2 Cubes Are Running Through The SPOD As Well As The 20Inch E Series Bar.. The Place I Went To Had Many Types Of Camera Choices... I Wanted The AEV One & View It In The Nav Unit.... If You Do a Fuel Caddy You'll Want a Camera... w/ 35inch tire & fuel caddy you have just the top corners for viewing... Your Place Should Give You Heads Up On The Labor Before Hand... I'll Check Through My Paper work to see what i paid for that....

jgk200, looks awesome. Was talking with Reggie up at Rubitrux, I live bout little over hour away in N.C. Very nice, and probably will order some more mods from them. Did go with more local install crew for my lift, etc. I just got 2.5" with 315/70/17 Mickey's and RR black wheels. I may be paranoid, find myself taking it slower with driving and think I hear noises. My first JEEP, I have 3.73 gear and worried it is working too hard with tires. Had exhaust spacer installed even though it said wasn't needed (figure better to have and not need than need and not have Looks great, clean, and mean at same time.

Thanks Man!! That's cool looking setup & very nice X you have there… I Had Rubitrux do the build from head to toe… Custom Jeeps for Sale | RubiTrux Parts and Accessories He sells the SPOD & the newer overhead switch panel where you can push a button to light up the switches or turn the light off on switches.. He also has the piller switch mount as well.. I would for sure check their site.. I saw a few of his jeeps w/ the duratracs & thats a really good looking tire and drives smooth & quiet too!!
