Well, this is going to be a slow build based on available money.
Couple of mods Smittybilt Gear tailgate cover
Rugged Ridge locking fuel door
I have also added Quadratec floor liners, Rugged Ridge grab handles front and rear, and Smittybilt SRC side step/rock rails. I also added a home made long grab handle for my kids to get in and out of the rear seats.
Coming shortly are front and rear bumpers and if budget allows some real tires.
Lol, anybody that actually hits a rock lobster Wrangler needs to be designated as legally blind on their drivers license.
Slow builds are fun, it's continuous gratification and the Visa card doesn't get beat to death.
People on cell phones aren't looking at the color of the jeep. Dude texting ran into the back of my Solar Yellow LJ a few months back. No way he shouldn't have seen that.
Yeah, i have purchased a few small mods. And getting ready to order tires and the replacement rear bumper. I found a smitybilt src clone rear for $300 and a set of Falken Rocky Mountain 285/75-16's for $544.00. Got to love Ebay.
Went away for vacation an my smittybilt rear bumper showed up. And now we have a snowstorm coming and I don't have a garage to do the install. Packaging was well done.
She wasn't on cell and the roads were ice covered, plus she was way to inexperienced to be driving on it as fast as she was. Leason learned for her and free mod money for me. Oh I also installed a set of rugged ridge mat black vent visors. They already have saved the inside as my daughter left her window down a little during the snow/rain storm.
Not yet, but they were just installed today. I haven't had an opportunity to flex her out much just a small rock pile, and u didn't hear or feel any rub.
Installed a Smittybilt SRC rear bumper. My two girls were my only helpers wish I had taken photos of them turning wrenches it was cute. I will post pics of the bumper later. Seems well built and fit was nice and tight. If anything I would change in the design I would add a third bolt to the frame attachments more like the stock tow hook. Thought about the ebay generic version, but there are subtle differences between the two and for me and using it to tow the smittybilt seemed more stought.
Purchased a used procal and got the speedo much closer after tire install. The flaken rocky mountain 285/75-16 on stock 16 inch wheels measured right at 31.75" with 35psi. Shorter than I thought. Speedometer is currently .4 mph off. I may try a different setting to get it closer.
Added rugged ridge rocker guards. The smittybilt src collected rockes that kept chewing up the rockers. They were a littke long just sawed the end off a little.
Also added a black jeep grill logo. The paint on the grill is very thin and the eraser wheel buned through the paint. Planed on a black grill in the future anyway. So thus speed up the process. When I do that I think I will paint the logo rock lobster to stand out.
Update on rocker guards. It looks like the plastic wasn't properly preped before the 3m was attached as it pulled away from the guard as you can see in the pic.
Well I appear ti be the only one posting, but must say rugged ridge is standing behind their product and sending a replacement part. Sucks having to remove everything and reprep the rockers, but kudos to rugged ridge for standing behind their product.
