Cool jeep man! I saw that you used the clamps provided with the banks exhaust, i have one on my jk. I would suggest going to your local NAPA store and ordering some flat clamps they work much better and are easier to torque i had to replace them because one became very loose after a wheeling trip and they just were not up to my standards ( i am a "car nazi" haha)

These are the clamps i mentioned i just didn't have time to post some pictures for you. They are the same type as the one that comes in the kit to attach the tip to the system. It is a 2.5 inch band clamp from napa.

Fabricated a new CB antenna mount today. Used a piece of heavy angle iron, drilled it to mount to the top two bolts of the "tramp stamp plate"

First off, Sick Build!

Second, I had the same idea for the MetalCloak icon turn signal inserts. I just haven't been able to find a turn signal LED light that I liked. I don't think that the TJ's version is as square and I think the ones you got wouldn't work for me.

Third, the using the Metal Cloak Flares on the trailer is outstanding! I really appreciate intelligently function & form.

Forth, I don't know what they are called, but those metal plates that appear to be bolted vertically inside, above the rear wheel-well... I saw a Redskins' fan do some up nicely too... What are those for? To shove stuff behind as storage? Does something else connect to them? I like the tailgate tray, I hadn't seen that before.

First, thank you very much

Second, it took me a while to find the one that worked best, I'm not sure about the TJ but if its close to the same then that light should work.

Third, thank you again, I think details and themes are important.

And last if ou search the forums for "fantastic gear storage" you will find the thread on all of the guys stuff. It basically allows you to mount mole gear storage stuff. I have his personnel contact info if you want to order anything from him.

sPod Assistance

Hey Darkfire, I'm hitting you up on your build thread since your PM box is full. I figured this knowledge would help other folks down the road as well.

I'm pasting the below that I typed up earlier...

I really love your build and follow it with each update. I also love your wife's build very much. Keep the updates coming!

I want to achieve exactly what you've done with your sPod and have the bottom row of words always on when the headlights kick on and the top row gets activated when you flip a switch to the "ON" position.

Do I order the regular sPod from any vendor or do I need to special order the unit directly from sPod? If ordering the regular sPod from any vendor do I then merely order OTRATTW rockers? I order the whole switch bodies, correct? When ordering the switches which configuration do I order? Independent/dependent? Dependent/independent? Both Independent? What does this annotation mean for the switches?

One more question for you Darkfire...
In your configuration the bottom row stays lit all the time when headlights are activated and the top row turns green when a switch is "ON", correct? If so, can you give me a part number of the OTRATTW switch you're using. I'd like to go the exact same route.

Below is how the switch panel would look during daytime running and no switches activated, yes?

Below is with your headlights/dash lights on and none of the switches in the ON position, correct?

And below is how it would look with the headlights on and ALL switches flipped ON, correct?

I'm adept enough at wiring to find a dimmer/headlight controlled wire in the kick panel so that should be no problem. Do I run that wire to a single wire in the switch panel to activate the bottom row on the switches? Or did you have to build a set of jumper wires that run to each switch?
I know I'm bombarding you with TONS of questions. I try to find all this out by searching but it started to all muddle together and I wasn't really getting anywhere.

Thanks SO MUCH for any help you can provide.

first the easy question, the beer does nothing at the moment, the trunk monkey turns on the Rigid industries diffused lights I flush mounted in the tail lights.

Kramer, first your picture series is correct on how they look when activated.

Spod has a new upgrade that comes with dual light switches. you do not get to choose the color of the leds in the switches. that being said I would order the basic Spod then buy your complete switches from OTRATTW and replace them all.

you will need to jumper the ground on the new switches and run the dash light wire.

if you pull the dash and remove the instrument cluster (takes 5 min) there is a black plug with an orange wire in it. that is the dimmer light wire (see Pic)

here is one of the part numbers from the switch
Product ID: VVPZCZL-5ZL
Product Name: V-series Contura V sealed rocker switch, ZOMBIE LIGHTS

when you talk to him just give him this and he will know exactly what you are looking for

when you talk to them and SPOD (ask for cindy) ne sure to mention my name Please.

what am i leaving out.....

Kramer, when you do this, please take pics of your wiring job on the back of the SPOD panel, as I can conceptualize it, but a live pic would sure go a long way to helping me not ef it up! Thanks.

Darkfire, thanks so much for taking the time to clarify all that for me. I made it out to be a lot harder in my head. I don't think it will be too complicated now.

Thanks for helping clarify the above. I remember you had a thread earlier about who ordered the SPOD and your thread. Well, you can count me in if needed. I have ordered the SPOD and am ordering OTRATTW switches. Nice build and thanks for the posts.

Ok a few SPod info updates,

This is the update switch panel with the illuminated lower light. The panel is upside down in this picture, the little slit goes to the bottom. you can order the switches in different colors, but the bulbs behind the switch are white.

This is how their wiring looks in the rear, you'll notice the red wires in the center. They install a small push button switch in the panel to activate the lower light on the switches. It is not wired to the dash lights so you either turn it on or off manually.

This is the the OTRATTW switches installed from the rear, (sorry for the bad picture) the green wire is ground, it is next to the other terminal that needs to be grounded for the second light to work on the switch. It is hard to see (it will get a better picture) but I soldered a jumper wire across the base of the two terminals. The orange wire at the top of the picture is the dash light wire that needs to be added.
