How did you route the wires since your tire carrier and door swing separately? I have the same exact rear bumper, rims and tire, lol, and trying to figure out how not to have 3 feet of wire hanging behind the carrier when it's closed?

There is a hole already there that has been spray foamed from inside the coroner. Just push a rod thru it and insert the wire.

Which lite is it? I am assuming it is the M4, but which model? I have XD Addicts and am going to steal your idea. Although my EXP ONE rear bump / tire carrier all opens together, so I can just use the factory wiring.

Thanks

Anytime,

Also if you pull back the plastic and carpet above the passenger rear tail light. The wire harness that feeds the 3rd break light is there. The hot wire is gray with a black stripe and ground is solid brown. And there is a large grommet that goes to that tail light right there for easy wire feeding to the underside.

Thanks Dark!! Great idea and it worked perfectly for me.

I ended up just popping out the passenger side tail light and tapping into the brake light right there. From the compartment I dropped straight down and out of the Jeep and then snaked the wires around the same as you. Once up on the tire carrier, I was able to tap a small hole before turning the wires to go 'up', allowing a good place to zip tie. Here are a couple pics.

Led marker / turn signal fabrication

The Metal Cloak fenders have a really nice laser cut emblem on the front. Why they don't have a kit to back light them I do not understand. But rest assured I will fix that ;-)

I didn't just want them to be either a running light or turn signal and they are "a single function light" meaning a single + and - so I did a little reverse grounding to get both functions. Ok what am I talking about you ask.... By wiring the ground of the turn signal light to the positive of the running light it will make both lights come on when the running lights are on. But when you turn on the turn signal then it removes the ground from the circuit causing the lights to alternate on and off between the new light and the factory light.

Thank you folks again for the kind words!
I think this is turning into an addiction :-)

Ok new mod I removed the factory towers (aka the windshield stops) and installed button head bolts.
Looks much cleaner and cost 2.50.

I like the Metal Cloak front fenders and how they split off into two piece, really want the fronts but not so sure about the rear and having to install the fender plate.

Great Job btw

It's really not to awful bad. The rivet insert tool they give you is the real PIA! I am working on full write on just MC fenders with lots of detail pics and tips. I am hoping to finish it this weekend.

I have been thinking about how the Xenon rear flat fenders would look with the Metal Cloak fronts

That would be interesting to see. The down side is they don't "pop off" like the MC. From your profile pic I assume u have a 2 door? As I recall MC has a different setup for the 2door. I think u can do a mounting kit instead of the full plate like mine but don't quote me on that.

Got my Trek Armor seat covers installed. These are GREAT quality and worth every penny!

I ordered them with orange stitching to break up the all black interior.

When I opened the box I was amazed! I was expecting to just find my covers inside not the covers rolled and stored inside a nice custom bag. Just lends itself even more to the quality you can expect from the covers.

Well I got my rampage locking gas cap cover in yesterday. It's a nice cover but the mounting of it is kind of cheesy. So I divide to modify it and make it extremely sturdy. I went to the local true value store and bought 8 4mm x70 pitch Allen head screws. Next I drilled out to of the fake hex head screws. And drilled out the plastic gas ring on the jeep.

I taped the hole in the gas cap ring and threaded two of the screws in. I then took an 1/8 inch bit and drilled the remaining 6 fake hex head screws and into the gas cap ring

I then tapped the remaining six holes and drilled out the 1/8 holes on the rampage cover a little larger so the screws would slide through.

Thank you very much...........

And now ..... I got my Dirtydog4x4.com safari straps and pet divider installed. Let start by saying that Michael is great to work with and they do an awesome job on these straps. They were straight forward to install, unsnap for easy access and I still have lots of vision out the back.

The fit is great, it comes with the rear bar in this picture that fits into the factory soft top holder. I'd pops in and out with ease to allow access to the back

As with the rest of everything I have done on this build, I just can't leave good enough alone.... Although the bar that came with the straps works great for the rear I though that I could modify this to use the factory tailgate bar to hold the rear of the net. So I picked up a 5' rod to slide thru the webbing and into the factor mount like how the regular top pice slides into the bar.

Here is a close up. It fit extremely will, it holds the netting in perfect alignment and allows you to close and lock the tailgate with the netting.

Always making a better widget ;-)
