Bought a new high lift jack for the jeep today. Only problem is unlike my red jeep I did not want it sticking up in the air and I don't like the angle look mounting it in the tire rack.

So I made a custom mount to attach it to the lower portion of the bumper

I think it turned out pretty nice. Very low profile. The foot plate is in the compartment where the factory jack used to go.

I put the doors back on to go wheeling, I was expecting rain, which we got and the mud to go with it

Loving this thread. It's been nice following along.

Hey Darkfire, you mentioned you were going to start a separate thread to detail the Metal Cloak fender installation. Any plans of still doing that?

Keep up the nice work on that rig.

Great news I just picked up a sponsorship from Rigid Industries for a full lighting package for the photo shoot.

I should have the equipment today and will begin the installation process. I will be doing an In depth installation photo update here when I begin....... Stay tuned :-)

Nice! The only thing better than cool new parts, is FREE cool new parts!

The little details on the build are cool. I think what really sets the tone though are those metalcloak fenders. They are awesome. Love the lightup M!

Truck-lite LED head light install.

First opinions, they are very well made and heavy! They look awesome and the pigtail adaptor should be very easy to just plug and play.

So here is how it looks with the factory headlights in

Factory head light was easy to remove. It is held in place by the Crome beauty ring and it is 4 small Torx screws

The truck lite head light just plugs in now, I would recommend attaching the pig tail to the light first then to the factory harness.

This is what it looks like with 1 factory and 1 LED in place for comparison.

The left side is the LED and the right is the factory.

I will post some more of the finished lights and comparison shortly

I like the ultra clean light theses produce. The overall install (with out all the picture taking) took me about 5 mins from beginning to end . Theses are super easy to install, look great and I expect will hold up much better then the stock lights ever would have.

Thank you Truck-Lite and Chuck for getting me these.

Next to come the Rigid Industries light install

DF,

3 Things:

1. That is probably the coolest looking jeep I have seen yet. Not over done (40" tires on a 6" lift). Very classy, capable rig.

2. On the truck-lites. do you see "the flicker" with the LED's that I have seen 22 page threads about? It is usually only seen at idle, due to the CANBUS system and PWM. I am just curious if Truck-lite has engineered this flicker out of the lights yet?

3. Do those Gen 2 mounts come in to contact with the jeep. In other words, are they going to rub the paint, and if not, is crap going to get stuck between them and the skin of the jeep?

Great thread, great build. Thanks for taking the time to post this great info.

1. Thank you very much you are very kind.

2. No flicker that I have noticed yet. These are brand new directly from Truck-lite. The only note is that they fit a little loose in the bezel. I used a little rubber on the bezel mount and it tightened them right up.

3. Yes it comes in contact with the jeep. If you look at this picture, it shows the rubber pice that comes with it. It goes between the bracket and the jeep to prevent rubbing.

Rigid industries 10" led light bar and Dually D2's

I put a 10 flood on the front above the winch fairland. I went with the flood because I intend to put an Amber lens on it and use it as a fog light .

It worked out pretty well that the Led mount that comes with it just fit the width of the fairland. I drilled out the fairland and then taped and threaded the Led mount so I could bolt it on from underneath.

The Dually D2's were sent with the A pillar mount which can be used by its self or it bolts over the Generation 2 pillar mount for the light bar. If you use them with the light bar, you will need to replace the factory bolts with longer ones in order to catch the threads and tighten it. The wires run right into the cowling and into the engine compartment. Clean and easy, took about 10 min to mount.

Can't wait to see what you come up with! I was actually researching these awhile back with some install ideas too. The SPOD looks good. Your build is definitely awe-inspiring!
