Well this is my second jk and I knew that if I didn't put it on tons with 40s I would always wish I had. Should have started this thread earlier but at least I'll try and keep it updated from this point on.
Before I had even seen Mojave Sand I knew I was interested in the color just from the name. Once I saw a renegade at a dealership in mojave sand I was sold on the color. I was lucky enough to find exactly what I was looking for without ordering, a mojave sand jku with no tow package (ditching the axles so no need for lower gears). The only options I cared about were power windows and power locks.
Mods so far include.
-Antenna X
-vector offroad ufo's
-trimmed fenders and front bumper
-spicer ulitmate dana 60s (5.38 gears)
-adams front and rear driveshafts
-Trail Ready HD-17 beadlocks (graphite grey powedercoat)
-Nitto trail grapplers (40x13.50 r17)
-terraflex 4" lcg long arm
-synergy grab handles
-s-pod 6 switch
- switch covers from OTRATTW
Mounting five 100 some odd lbs tires on beadlocks in the heat was a chore.
The heat/humidity had my "TR" logos falling off before I even had the wheels out of their boxes
That's what I told my husband the color was-"Dirt Road Tan" when trying to describe the one I had fallen in love with on the dealer lot. I love it since we do live on a dirt road-the back end is the only thing that shows the dust
Love your build man. I like how you started off with the most important upgrades(drivetrain, syspension, tires) instead of cosmetic upgrades. I have 37" now and i already crave for 40's. Your build is what i exactly want- 60's with 40". A lot of work and money you put into it, but it's well worth it. Enjoy it.
Put a quick photoshop together of how half doors would look :jaw drop:
Thinking they might have to happen for real eventually..
Really running doorless though!
Forgot that the other day I put on Krawler Conceptz coil correction wedges. My rear trackbar was coming into contact with my rear passenger coil spring and these gave me plenty of clearance! Used hose clamps for coil retainers.
I had a short list of options as well! I suppose it really just came down to styling. Everything I've gotten from CC so far has been really well made and has gone on easy.
Awesome build, wish had the money for 60's but it's not there so will beef up my rig the best I can, if it breaks I will replace with bigger and better.
Got my evo boatsides and poison spyder fender liners back from paint and powder coat! Thrilled with how the paint match turned out. I have black hardware coming in the mail as well, can't stand the stainless.
Yeah power isn't bad! Could be better but I can still bomb down the highway at 85. Rpm isn't too bad either with 5.38 gears. Mileage however is another story.
Judging on that monster truck sitting next to the stock JK, money isn't much of a factor, lol. Love the look you have going though. I'm still pretty set on my Method Beadlocks, but those TR's look sweet. The only thing holding me back is the price difference between the two. Sorry, tangent! I love it all. I'm rocking my ProRock44 for a time and when I can swing it, I'll go the 60/40s route.
