Nice, same here, good ol' Fairfax!

I'm surprised by the amount of Jeep owners here, would be cool to get some organized meets set up.

Fair point! Based on that technicality, I guess this is the first "mod" that I did myself... you, on the other hand, definitely get full credit for the awesome "black decals mod"... Maybe you've missed your calling? lol. Everyone who has seen it so far has agreed that the black decals should be mandatory with this color.

Seriously, though, thanks for doing that, and for everything else still to come.

I got to rock it topless on the way home from work today. Gotta say, the new premium soft top is pretty damn slick... good times!

Status of build in attached image. (The items in yellow are either in shipping or haven't been ordered yet).

And yes, I know I'm way too organized for my own good... OCD even?

Don't do like I've done and add in a column for the cost of each item.

That'll drive you to the bottle.

I notice you have the Teraflex rear tire mount. Is that all you're going with to mount your 35" combo? Or are you referring to the HD carrier and tire mount kit?

Are you not worried what the weight will do to your stock hinges and tailgate welds?

I'm starting with just the adjustable tire carrier. They claim that the reinforcement it provides is enough to better distribute the weight of any tire up to 35", so I'm going to see if they're right (and I'll be especially careful when the door is open!) The Duratracs are a fairly light 35" tire too, so that should help.

If I ever feel that the hinges are still stressed too much, or if/when I move up to 37's, I'll add their hinge system to the mix.

As for the cost column, I didn't post it here because some of the prices were on deals made by each vendor that are less than their posted prices -- but, trust me, I have that all tallied up as well, and it has definitely caused me to have a few extra drinks lately! lol

All told -- and since I'm doing almost all of the installs myself (or with friends) -- the grand total is right around $6k...

I'm going to modify the MOLLE rear storage panels a little bit -- the ones from Alan on eBay -- but I have two quick questions:

1. Anyone know the best type of glue or epoxy I should use to glue a thin and light sheet of plastic to the flat metal MOLLE panel?

2. I bought a rattle can of paint that matches my Jeep. What type of sandpaper and primer should I use on the rear storage panels before I paint them?

I'm interested in your approach for #1. Hurry up and tackle that!

On #2, you should not need to sand and prime anything. I'd think the flat black coat on it already should accept paint just fine.

So you don't think the black will affect the Deep Cherry Red color by making it darker than normal? Hmmm... maybe I'm over-thinking this? lol

I'm planning to tackle this project before Friday -- I'm just waiting for the DCR paint to show up on my doorstep.

Oh, and I added my trusty old Yakima SpareTime II bike rack to the mix. After taking a dremel to it to make it fit over the new TF studs, it actually fits better/tighter than ever before!
