I havnt really done much to the jeep over the last month or so, just enjoy it. Ive been really wanting to get a roof rack and steel rear bumper on and this kind of got the wheels rolling...

He did quite the number on his car and i think i got pretty lucky he hit right on the tow hook, didnt have any body damage or frame damage under the garbage oem bumper. Just a little indent and some scratchs.

So after that happened i decided i needed a steel rear imediately.

Talking

Started shopping around for bumpers and then my search wandered to roof racks again.. And i stumbled upon Body Armors full rack system and cargo basket they carry at 4wheelparts. The rack and cargo basket were both almost half off so i got excited. I noticed that not all aftermarket bumpers will fit with their rack so i looked to their own rear bumper set ups. I came across their rear bumper with optional tire swing for a great price through 4wp sale they had on. I actually really liked the bumper so decided id give it a shot and ordered one up along with the whole rack setup cant wait to get theparts in, they should be here next week. When they arrive ill be jumping all over installing the goods

Heres what the rack and basket look like, as well as the rear bumper, minus the tire swing because im not sure i want it yet.

More picture to come when its all installed i also have some custom plates coming for her too so stay tuned for the updates

Probably the best investment for these things since the rear plastic bumper is a joke. I was quite surprised with how well it handled the impact but im sure 10-20km faster it would have pushed up into my body and done serious damage. I wish i didnt wait so long to get one, but on the other hand the person that hit me is paying for the bumper

Just think of what the other car would of looked like with a steel rear bumper..that's my next investment...was looking at body armors rear bumper..they sell for around 300 on amazon..option to add carrier later..and I keep my hitch.

I got the rear bumper with no carrier for 400$ taxes in. Pretty good deal i think, cant wait to slap it on and see if everything lines up easily.

I know! Ive can imagine it would be alot worse, but i spoke to him today and the car was a write off so it was as bad as it could get for him. I actually really like the bumper looks so i hope it can take a beating too. I was also looking for a bumper that i could use existing hitch and glad i came across this one. Ill post a step by step of installation for everyone once i get it.

Got somw goodies in on friday . 4wheelparts got my rack and bumper in the same week which made me pretty happy this past long weekend as i worled most of it. I managed to get the rack on friday night, and the bumper saturday morning. The bumper didnt want to line up when i 1st tried but it ended up me just needing to cut my licence plate cover heres how everything looks, im really happy with it, still waiting for the cargo basket to finish it all off. The basket should be in this week

Kinda hard to see but theres 3 bolts on each side mounted through the bumper plate to the frame.

Heres what gave me the trouble putting the bumper on, the latch block sits flush with the licence plate so i had to cut the corner of my plate cover. Littlebit of a sloppy cut sawsall and in a rush to get to a car show aha. People loved the jeep at the show

You can take the plastic cover off the plate and use krylon clear coat and put several layers on the plate. Will give some protection and might look a little cleaner.

Nice set by the way. $400 for the bumper? That's a great deal may have to look into that as well. It mounted up to the frame no problem?

Ya the bumper bolted up and lined up perfect but u cant have a plate cover on, it sits flush with the plate as you can see.

Nice!

I have always wanted personalized plates but don't want to be tagged by them. Especially if you piss someone off unintentionally on the highway that turns out to be a psycho, it's a lot easier to remember a personalized plate.

Lmao, well if someone really wants my plate to come hunt me down, iits not going to be hard to catch me anyways and if they want it that bad there going to get it unless i cut through a field the plates were $250 with taxes, i really have to protect these plates now, and not let them get like this...

^ I didn't mean to steal your jeep or plates but that's also a good call. I meant more along the lines of finding out where you live by tracking the plate and potentially worse.

Ether way like I said wouldn't really deter me just my wife's concern which I will defend as it is a valid concern for some.

Are you still running 3.21 gears? If so, how is it holding up with all the added weight? The only reason I'm asking is because I've got a good deal lined up on a new JKU but it's got the 3.21 gears.

Oh yeah, and GREAT rig! Love the name!!

Thank you very much I dont find it too bad at all, im glad i went with the 33s though and didnt try and push 35s on the 3.21s. That was the most noticeable slow down. What heavy upgrades were you thinking of doing?
