ive done quite a bit over the last week during holidays in my free time but i dont have any pictures other than this 2am shot from when i finished putting my new bumper, winch, skidplate, and lights on.

its an aev bumper with thei skidplate that i purchased off someone locally for a very good deal, he had it on his jeep for 6 months or so. hiding in behind the lights is a smittybuilt X20 10,000LB winch. the winch is wired up and works great, i got a chance to do one test pull with it. the lights are not wired up just yet but will be getting to them very shortly.

Ill post some pics of all the other things ive done soon when i get a chance, and some better pics of the bumper.

So i got a chamce to take a better picture of the front bumper, and a few other things ove done to date. dont mind the snow, it wont stop here been a great 1st winter with the jeep.

Back when i first got the jeep i added the two most important mods to a jeep IMO, locking hood lock and locking gas tank cap. I purchased a rugged ridge lockable gas door, but i disnt like it when i mocked it up. So i went with just the Mopar locking gas cap and the Tuffy locking hood lock. I went with the tuffy lock because the guys at the shop i deal with highly recommended it and claimed it was the next best thing to a mopar hood lock. It was a no brainer when its cost was 1/4 of the Mopar hood lock and the TUffy one is definately high quality.

Also got a nice set of Wathertech mats front and back, had Weathertechs in my last car and 40k km later the carpet was still pristine underneath the mats. One of the best investments i ever purchased for my last vehicle, but i was lucky enough to get them for xmas this year!

Heres a shot of the passenger front, like i said its snowing alot here so the matts are a little salty.

Heres the rears, there a little hard to see but there a one piece all the way across the rear floor.

Had a great Christmas this year and got a couple little goodies and a few big surprises. I had been asking everyone for jeep parts for christmas and i ended up getting some good stuff. Main thing i wanted to get was a set of Rancho 9000s, and there just happened to be a set waiting for me christmas day thx Mom. I was shocked that my mom bought me shocks :P wasnt expecting to actually get them but i guess she really knows how much i wanna lift this thing. So she got me the Rancho 9000s but got the ones for a 2" lift. Im looking to go with a 2.5" Teraflex lift so i ended up calling the guys where she purchased them from and they ordered me the correct ones and should be getting them next week.

So now that i "have" the shocks i went ahead and stopped by a shop in the area to order the 2.5" Teraflex spring kit. They said they should be in within 3-6 weeks (earlier if they have a big order come in). Very excited about this, all seems unreal, i wasnt expecting to get it lifted for a year or so. Ill update as parts come in, for now its a waiting game. But while i wait ill be busy wiring a few things

Hey guys, well the lifts on its way and you know what comes next TIRES. Well i know i want 35s but ive got a sahara with 3.21 gears drives fine stock but i hear 3.21s are way to high for 35s. So the cost of regearing is kind of out of my range atm but i know its almost gunna be 100% nessecary once i get my rear bumper on and new spare. The font bumper and winch is definately a noticable weight and would like to not have to give er everytime im pulling off. Its not bad but from what ive read its only going to get worse(alot worse) with those big meaty 35s. So my dilemma is should i go for 35s with the 3.21s? i wont be getting a 5th spare and tire carrier right away so that weight wont be there yet but will i be able to actually be comfortable driving this for probably 6 months - 1year possibly? Id like to hear from the guys that have tried and how long u guys lasted before saying f#%# this im re gearing. Orrrrr option number 2 im thinking is just go with some 33s and drive em till they die or i get cash to regear and get 35s. Jeeps less than 3 months old so i dont really wanna re gear yet but i know its not that big of a deal. Let me know what you guys think, any input is greatly appreciated.

well, i finally made a decision on tire size and picked up a set of 285/75/16 Duratracs. got them off a guy few hours north of me that had them on a plow truck that sat most of last winter, he says they say maybe 3000km of usage and the tires show it, there like new! now its a waiting game till next weekend. next saturday is 4wheelparts "store overstock sale" so im hoping i can score a set of Procomp Series 29 or Procomp Series 7069 for a good deal. what do you guys think of the two? i really like the Series 29s and will probably go with them if their on sale, there about 40$ more a rim so im still up in the air on my decision because im trying to keep a tight budget on my wheels/rims. let me know what you guys think of the two

Procomp Series 29

Procomp Series 7069

I love the look of the 7069's, and for $40 less a rim, I would personally grab those.

The Jeep is turning out nice, can't wait to see some more pictures!

Been a little busy but saturday was a great day for the jeep. Got a great deal on a set of 5 Procomp 7032s at the 4wheelparts store sale. Didnt end up getting the 29s, or 7069s because they had no stock and i was looking to get the wheels mounted that day. But in the end i think i actually like these rims more than both of those, so i, very pleased with them. The 5th matching wheel isnt on yet but when i get some extra cash ill be ordering a tire for it. They also had the my new set of Ranchos in, if only the Teraflex kit would show up! But here she is for now..

Some fun in the snow, what a difference these tires make!

Pile of goodies..

Going to be finally wiring up my KC lights this weekend so ill get some pics of them up soon

Hi there DuneWrangler

Looking good!

Could it be that these wheels are the Pro Comp 7031, and not 7032. Did a search for the 7031 and different style comes up. But what I wanted to ask, are these the 16x8 with 4.5 backspace and +6 offset?
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks alot. Yes they are actually the 7031s, my mistake, way better looking than the actual 7032s. There a 16x8 with 4.5 backspacing, offset could be +6 but its so little i never even worried about it.

Ive been hearing a very strange noise since the lift was installed, sounded like the spring settling but it happened quite frequently on bigger bumps and potholes id hit. Its been quite nasty around here for the last few weeks so i wasnt motivated to get under the truck dripping water and snow but when i finally got around to it this past thursday i found this..

Yup.. Thats my spring not seated properly and actually almost about to fall out :@ i quickly ran to a buddys house to get his jack and hit home depot to get some wood blocks so i could get this sucker in the air and put this spring where it should be. Very dis pleased with this and showed this to 4wheelparts and they appologized and looked everything over on the truck again and patched my tire for free. Im just glad i didnt ignore it longer and the spring came out. I was quite busy with work so it was something i wanted to get to look at but had no time and wasnt using the truck.

Other than that unfortunate mishap i absolutely love the height of the truck and how it rides with this setup, such an improvement over stock!

No steps or rock rails

Rock rails installed

Grab handles installed front and rear

Everytime I see a pic of Dune it looks like a different color. Looks great in person though..

About the spring.. did they install the bolt/washer that retains the spring to the axle? It is a booger to get to and could be "overlooked" by a shop that dont want to take the time..

Haha ya i get alot of "is that yellow?" At night alot. i dont ever see it but many people have thought its yellow lol

They did install the spring retainers thankfully. I dont understand how the mechanic missed that when he finished up the installation

Nice JKU

Really like that color...was on my list of favorites when I was deciding.

Sandy is looking really great man. Like that wheel/tire combo. Lot's of fun in the snow...and in Spring you'll have all that fun snow-melt mud to attack...er, uh, traverse.

Im the self appointed name police around here.

Here's my position....

"Sandstorm" is freakin FANTASTIC.

It might be my new favorite. You have to really go all out with your jeep with a title like that.

It may have unseated "Rolling Blackout" as the best name I've seen.

BRAVO!

Well im glad i hit a home run then i think it suits the color very well and has stuck in my head since i got it. I have so many plans i dont even know where to begin! Lots of long term goals but alot of stuff id like to tackle over the year. For now im taking care of all the minor mods and "neccessitys".

Been debating on doing this for a while now and finally went for it because i couldnt stand the look of the stock spare on there still. So i figured until i get a tire for my 5th rim id remove the carrier and see how that looks. I actually really like the look alot more than i thought and now makes me really want to get a roof rack for the tire and more.. But well see about that down the road. This pictures not so great but it looks pretty good outside, ill throw some more pics up when i deal with the 3rd brake light

After searching through various hardware and automotive accessory stores over the past few days i finally found what i was looking for. I found these at a transport truck part store and was mind blown with the variety of Hi-lite products they sell, great find for sure. There basically the same lights that are sold for putting in your spare tire lug nuts but way cheaper than the kit that they come as. Got these for 9$ea vs $50 for the kit with 2-3 feet of wire. My plan is to install them in the oem bumpstops and cut the bumpstop down to make it flush with the light. Thats my project for this afternoon so ill throw up some pictures of the end result when im done.

So yesterday i managed to get my 3rd brake light project finished up and im very pleased with how well it worked. I took the OEM bumpstops and cut about an inch off so the lights would mount flush inside them. Sanded the face of them to make them smooth after my terrible hacksaw job, then drilled a hole straight through the centre of the bumpstop to pull the wire through to the tail gate. Heres a few step by step photos and the finished results

The wiring of them was deAd easy. I extended the wiring from the right hand side bumpstop light to behind the left hand side one through the interior raceway for oem wiring. Wired the lights up parallel to eachother then cut the oem connector off of the oem 3rd brake light harness and connected the oem wiring to the butt connectors with the two lights in parallel. At first they didnt work... But that was my fault for expecting black wiring to be the hot line and the white with orange line on it to be common. So flipped the wires and voila! Magical lights in my bumpstops let me know what you guys think, love to hear input, cheers!

I used butt connectors to do all the wiring and then electrical taped over all the connections just to be safe.

Lights off
