Made two more mods today. I added the Trek Armor front seat covers since I really liked how the rears worked out. I also added Safari Straps extended cage to protect my dog.

I just placed my order for a 3.5" MC Game Changer ARB to replace my 2.5" AEV.

Awe man, you are ditching the AEV lifts... no more talking to you on the AEV forum? Only kidding, that MC lift looks great. Getting ready for those 37's?

I will still check the AEV forum out to help others. 37's are definitely in the plans. I just feel the MC lift will be better for me than my AEV was. I just like the idea of being able to dial in my Jeep based on how it is setup with weight at this point.

'13 Commando Green "Boba Jeep"..wanted advice on how the 2.5 AEV lift rode for DD and the wear on Duratrax. Looking at both with tire 315/70/17 and concerned if will last 50000 miles and noise for highway. Thanks and rig looks great.

The AEV rides and handles well. It's a little stiff but if the Jeep has bumpers and other weight I think it will ride better. It's a pretty basic lift and I liked it for the most part. I just wanted a little more lift and wanted everything to be replaced in the suspension with the ability to fine tune it. That's why I went with the MetalCloak. I don't know if the DT's will get 50K but they are a great tire. They handle perfect in the rain and are probably the quietest aggressive tire on the market. They look great too.

Decided to cancel my MC order. I decided the cost to use ratio wasn't good enough for me. I can add 37's and flat fenders for less than the MC kit.

I just couldn't justify the new DS plus install of everything and possible steering upgrades. My AEV is perfectly fine for what I use the Jeep for. My first step will be MCE flat fenders and then maybe 37's real soon if there is too much gap. I can't wait to see what yours looks like Sucker!!

Thanks man. I can't freaking wait. Looking at that lift and tires in the garage is starting to irritate me. Hopefully I will get it all done this weekend!

Your Jeeps gonna look sweet with those fenders and 37's

Your leaving the 2.5 for 3.5" lift with 37? I just bought a JKU rub and wanting to buy a lift. Trying to learn everything involved with control arms and drivetrain issues. Do you think 2.5 lifts need control arms and with AEV relocation bracket ? Thanks

I was going to run the 3.5" MetalCloak lift, but decided my AEV 2.5" was plenty for my needs. If I go to 37's I will just run flat fenders to gain the extra clearance needed. I didn't want all the issues that can pop up with running more lift. I am not a rock crawler so I didn't feel the need to go with CA's. The AEV brackets work fine for me.

Just ordered a set of Trucklites. They will be here Thursday. I was tired of the crappy stock headlights.

Added the TL's. I will test them tonight. They look way better than the stock when off in the daylight.

After getting them both on and then seeing the V's I knew they weren't the right solution for me. I thought I would think the smoked appearance was cool, but it took away from the front of the Jeep. Wasn't happy at all with the look or the light output except when on high beams so I sold them yesterday.

Just ordered MCE flat fenders. I will see how they look with my 315 Duratracs and if they look way too small then 37" KM2's will be ordered. Pics next weekend probably.

so what lights will you try next? My white 14 JKU is still all stock but look at your thread for ideas. Mine will probably remain this way for awhile though...out of the country on biz about 90% thru the rest of the year

If I swap lights I think JW's would be the ones to go with. I doubt I will since I hardly drive after dark and I have Rigids for those dark roads.

Great looking build and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with the JWs! I have been running them for about a month now and I always get excited when I get to drive at night!

Thanks for the compliments. It's going to look different soon with MCE flat fenders and probably 37" KM2 or STT or MTZ's shortly after. Probably KM2's just based on weight savings alone.

Hi, I really like your build. Just out of curiosity, why 37" tires on an expedition/overlanding rig?

Mainly looks. I'm going to add MCE flat fenders and see how I like that look. Unfortunately I get to look at it way more than I get to use it. I'm not 100% sold on 37's. I will see how I feel after adding the flat fenders tomorrow.

Okay. I would just think that the 37"s would seriously kill your gas mileage. With the Wrangler already not a gas sipper, that may limit your ability to explore too far off the beaten path. Plus I would be concerned that the larger tire would put too much stress on some of the components unless beefed up.
