I have had my jeep for about a year and its finally time to get some things done. The only minor problem is my wife is not a big fan of putting money in a "car." Don't get me wrong my wife is fantastic but not a "car" girl at all. Spending money on a car stresses her out.

Today Brown Santa arrived with my boxes from Rubicon Express at about 3:00. I bought the 2.5 kit with the mono shocks. I was running a leveling kit that I snuck on shortly after getting the jeep. QUICK! get to work before the boss gets home. I was able to get the rear part of the kit installed by 5 all cleaned up with tools put away. I have the original rake back. Tomorrow morning I will get the front of the kit installed with the Rancho brackets. Well I can say the rear Rubicon Express mono shocks dampen much nicer than the fronts.

I am going to "sneak" on skid plates, 4:56 gears, Spod, and Eaton lockers in the next month or so. Shhhhhhh!!

Nothing to see here. Managed to get the JKS disconnects, Rancho control arm brackets, and the Rubicon Express lift kit on without a hitch. I drove it 30 miles on its initial test drive. Overall it drives almost the same. I think the Bilsteins in the kit do a better job of controlling recoil or bounce when going through dips.

Tips - Make sure you have two 18mm box end wrenches on hand. I have tons of tools but for some reason don't have 18s. I was able to get it done with a crescent and sockets but it was not ideal.

Brake line relocation bracket problem

So against my better judgement I started searching the forum again and decided to add the drop/relocation brackets to my rear brake lines. I ordered the Rubicon Express RE1508 Brake Line Relocation Brackets. What a bummer. With any kind of flex the sway bar will hit the hard brake line now. Well at least it won't get pulled out of the caliper without the relocation brackets. Back to the drawing board for regular high quality lines. Any suggestions with 2.5 RE lift? Sorry for the neck pain! I don't know why it posted sideways.

Yesterday I was able to mount my ARB twin compressor under the seat. I also installed the lock box under the drivers seat. Mounting the compressor is fairly easy and probably took less than an hour. I am not a big fan of needing to unplug the airbag sensor connectors. Teraflex in their video says to attach the connector to the bottom of the seat but this will not work because there is not enough slack to account for moving the seat back and forth. Here is the video

Running the power will also be a chore because of the large plug on one end and the huge fuse blocks on the other. Well there is that and I am a neat freak when it comes to wiring. Its off to west marine to get the supplies.

I will not be using it to power air lockers so that is why I opted for the in cab mounting. I will be outside the jeep when it is running. For my use I needed to buy a 1/4 npt 90 degree fitting along with a 3" extension. This makes it barley noticeable and easy to connect an air hose to. The 90 you see in the photo is the one provided by Teraflex for the ARB braided line and manifold. I had to remove it and replace it for my propose.
