Yeah I understand about long explanations, have seen the glazed over look more than once when i was trying to explain something....but maybe it will also start conversations and not just history lesson? not trying to be mean (I hate how things don't sound "right" when typed versus a conversation that is spoken).........but could easily turn into a topic of discussion heritage and give other people the "bug" to mod their Jeep in a manner that means something....even if just to THEM.....isn't that why we "mod" our Jeeps to begin with for us and to do/ be what we want it to?
No, Mike doesn't have seat heaters, but that's a cool idea.

When were driving his jeep out to Texas, we stopped for the night in New Orleans and had to valet park. The next morning when the valet brought the jeep up for us he and his buddy asked, "Man, I was scared to drive this thing! I was afraid to hit the wrong button and the seats were going to fly out! You don't REALLY have them seats in there, do you?!?" Mike is the king of the straight face and he started telling them which buttons you have to push and the valets got these REAL scared looks on their faces, so I took pity on them and told them he was just kidding. They tried to laugh it off and say they didn't really believe him when he said they were real, but you could tell they were just trying to save face. LOL

I am all about trying to get people interested in their heritage. I can usually hook them for a few minutes if I tell them the story about my great great uncle Patrick who had to be smuggled out of Ireland in a coffin under a corpse to escape the British. (True story, I swear!).

Just thought I'd ask my friends for their opinion in the meantime, to see if someone came up with a really good reason NOT to do it.

Thanks for the input, jp and Branman!!

I've heard/seen them 'live' on TV, but not in the flesh. They have beautiful music.

Honestly though, I am an Irish folk song type of person. I love 'Rising of the Moon', 'Three Score and Ten', 'Black Velvet Band'... pretty much anything done by the Clancy Brothers, Dubliners, Irish Rovers, etc. I love the strife songs and I really love the fun ones!

With the Celtic warrior theme, I think 'Rising of the Moon' would be my jeep's theme song.

I have seen them 2x in Person, their show is a whole lot more than just the "Celtic women" themselves...I have heard some of the Clancy brothers but honestly..to me (and could be all wrong) Irish music is one of the few that covers emotions as well as it does.......and again it just personal opinion......okay back on topic someone help her build this Jeep!!

I love it! You didn't really like the Star, and Branman and I kind of talked you into keeping it because of the whole "Star" Thing. But, I think it would look awesome!!!!

The White star messes up the whole color scheme you have going on anyway!

Whiskey in the Jar is hands down the best Irish folk song ever! The artist doesn't matter, from Burl Ives to Metallica's they're all great.

Ace has them up on their site and Jason at Krawl is matching their shipped price I believe. I had made up my mind on the Ace sliders, but the more I think about it the more I like the LOD sliders

They are called GraBars and made by Welcome Distributing. We got them for our 2013 and I love them SO much they had to be the first purchased mod for my 2014. They are SO much sturdier than the paracord handles; you don't wind up feeling like you're swinging on the end of a trapeze.

Yeah, I know. I was torn. When I picked it up Mike was actually telling me the starts should stay, too. But once we put the new stickers on, HE was actually the one who suggested changing it. I think he wishes he was Irish now so he could have such cool stickers, too!

You can give me a second opinion after you see the rest of the stickers in person.

Whiskey in the Jar is an awesome song! I have at least four different versions on my phone at all times. I'd say I'd play Irish music Saturday, but I don't want to make jeepers' and Tex's ears bleed. LOL

I thought Jason said he was only giving 15% on ACE. We may go straight through ACE, because we're thinking about buying two of the new cargo baskets, too. If we are going to order them, might as well do the whole shebang! Gonna have to get this shopping list nailed down REALLY soon!!

[QUOTE=MnJK;6407842]Awesome…I'm Scotch and Irish. Someone probably got in big trouble back in my gene pool!

Regarding a later post, tartan girl….x2 for Mountain!!

Can't wait to see what you decide, tartangirl!

MnJK: I really am leaning more toward Mountain. Have you ever seen the Jeep Islander Edition from 2010? The Islander was a Sport-based Special Edition. i was thinking of a take-off on that lettering changed to "Highlander." I need to find custom headrest covers that I could do in a red & green tartan plaid, or tartan plaid seat covers. The Highlander Hood decal would be in that same red & green tartan plaid. I need black wheels and I really like the Moab ones, so I gotta do some shopping after X Mas! That's what I'm thinking, Mountain, Mountain,Mountain. Thanks!

I know. And if it looks awful I am going to be CRUSHED!!!

Mike offered to photoshop it for me, but his iMac has been at the Apple store all week, so I am going ahead just based on gut feeling.

I also ordered my new stickers yesterday. I can't wait!

Since you like the classic black fender look, you're gonna be right on with your gut feeling and it will look GREAT. Of course, I prefer the black fender look as well so am a bit biased and think it would look good on any body color. Looking forward to the pics!

We didn't get the fenders swapped today. We spent too much time yakking and eating all the great food everyone bought!

Mike bought the rivet gun, but I didn't realize I needed to buy some extra clips from the dealership in case the existing ones break. I'll get them on soon!

I also ordered my new decals yesterday. I hope pixeldecals is swamped with orders and fills up a sheet REALLY fast! I can't wait to make everything match.

I also ordered my ACE sliders, two of the new cargo baskets and Mike's new rear bumper combo. I forgot to add the door hangers, so I've sent them an email to see if I can add them to it.

Sent an email about my TeraFlex lift and hope to order that first thing Monday morning. Also going to order Mike's new wheels (finally) so I can have his 33s.

Last news: my mineral grey wheels are IN and will be swapped on Monday!

Score: StarBrite: 1 Chrysler: 0

Thanks, tartangirl! It was a blast!

Can't wait to see the new wheels tomorrow. It'll almost be like seeing it for the first time!

I'm going to ask the dealership about the clips while I am there. Not sure if they keep a bunch of them in stock, or if I'll have to wait for them to order some.

Huge improvement. I actually like the painted fenders more now that the wheels are darker.

Thanks, Branman!

While I love the fenders because they are BLUE, the picture I've had in my head of my jeep since the day I decided I wanted one has had black fenders. I was pricing fenders before I even ordered my jeep! LOL

Word to the wise! If you plan to change your fenders, make sure you do it when the clips are WARM and be gentle so you don't snap them! Those little suckers are $5.20/ea.!!!

Okay, thanks StarBrite!!!!!! I guess I will wait and see if they do a year end sale of some kind. I priced my wheels and tires with Discount Tire today and with that and a Rampage Recovery front bumper and winch I will have to wait for a while. BUMMER!!!!!

I did get my Ram mounts ordered today and tomorrow will order my hood decals from pixeldecals.com. That will be it for a while or my wife will blow a gasket.
