Lower elevation trails (5-7K) are hit and miss right now. Above 8000' pretty much closed till mid to late May. Anything above 11K closed till June maybe even July been a great snow season in High Mountains!

Honestly it depends on the winter we have, how much snow, and when winter returns. I think it was 07 the Passes in the High Mountains were open for about a month, mid August to early Sept then Winter returned!

well i have some bad news to report... i've been dealing with DW for probably the better part of the last two weeks.. and i'm still losing the fight. this is not fun. dealt with it a few years ago.

i'm wondering if the track bar itself is the issue. i have the TF monster forged track bar... and when i wiggle the steering wheel back and forth, i can see deflection in the threads. unfortunately i cannot get the adjustment collar any tighter... so i'm thinking it might be time for a new TB...

i think i'm going to try throwing a synergy sector shaft stabilizer on too. might pick up a synergy track bar. we'll see....

no they aren't! not at all! yes, between Jacob and Joe - hopefully we'll get this sorted out.

DW is a bad thing. especially with the recent install of the TF arms. last thing i want to do is trash the joints or prematurely wear the bushings on those new arms...

that's my frustration.

Yeah, that's got to I know enough about DW to know its a jeep's most dreaded enemy, and not fun to fix.

Used to run around in an old 80s pickup. Get up to 70 on I-95 and the right front wheel would start bouncing like HELL! Big, mud tires and a lift and that thing could bounce. Only way to stop it was to pull over to the side and completely stop the truck. Well, the throwing the rod was the OTHER way we found to stop that bounce, but that's another story.

Anyway, remembering that truck's ride has given me some idea of what DW may be like and I do NOT want to experience it!

absolutely Jerry. we can knock that out one afternoon and grab some beers out by the beach or something. probably could make a bit of a wrenching party out of it.

New track bar under warranty? Or are you going to switch to something else?

i have a TeraFlex Monster Forged Adjustable front track bar now... (holy crap that's a mouth full)... spoke with the TeraFlex guys (all great by the way -- especially if you've never picked their brains)

AJ asked me to look at a few things when I get home. then give him a call back. if i can get done what he asks... maybe we're good - if not - then he's said he'll warranty replace my TB for a new one.

Sounds good brother. If I get the motivation and my pain doesn't get in the way, I may tackle it tomorrow. I'll keep you posted but a wrench party with a beach visit sounds like something the doctor ordered!

It's always great when a company has great customer service and stands behind their product. RK hasn't let me down in that department. Good luck and if you need any help let me know!

That's great! it's all good after the adjustments! But nice to know they will warranty it out for you. Mike's trying to decide where he wants to purchase now, so it's good to know.

well it was worth the visit to Tony's shop. i learned a couple of things while the rig was up in the air...

1. one of the TF joints was coming apart... thankfully he dropped it for me there and pressed it back together with a new snap ring.
2. after a couple different ways of inspecting the ball joints, my lower one on the drivers side has some slop in it. i suspect that my be contributing to my issue.
3. after another set of eyes, i am pretty certain everything else is the way its supposed to be.

so let's hope the ball joints fix it.
