Talking tabber02 build... err - I mean bolt on thread...

alright. I've been inspired to create a build
thread. not to be out done by Ken, Oscar or anyone else for that matter

or maybe... this is my feeble attempt to raise my post count! any how we're going to have some fun here. so I'll start with a bone stock photo... off the show room floor in 2010.

so my first addition was a-pillar lights and i picked up some rubi rails from craigslist. I'm not ashamed to admit I shop for jeep parts on craigslist!

photo to be inserted later!

then after driving around for about 6 months like this I splurged on a BDS 4" short arm lift, some 315/75 r16 GYDTs, a hi-lift, CB and off I went.

over the next year, I added a smittybilt XRC 8k winch, winch plate, bestop trektop nx, some spacers for the front end sag... and wheeled as often as I could. and that's when the fun began.

my rig started handling like a wounded garbage truck. so I went nuts on the front end.
-TF monster forged adjustable front track bar
-TF monster forged adjustable rear track bar
-TF sleeves and upper c's
-synergy ball joints
-synergy (fox 2.0) steering stabilizer
-synergy tie rod
-synergy drag link flip kit
-north ridge grade 8 bolt kit
-synergy track bar mount (front and rear)

and suddenly. my jeep handled well again. (I guess tax returns are a good thing huh?)

and off I go again. keep in mind. I'll do my best to add pictures later.

if you have questions about anything... just ask away... some stuff i am very happy with, some stuff i wish i had gone in different directions. i'll try and update this thread once in a while.

i'm still working on the poison spyder stuff - only have the rear flares at the moment. i had them, my grill and the front and rear bumpers bedlined by a local business... rockhard bedliner.

very happy with how it turned out.

thanks. i was in your boat... i didn't realize PS made narrow ones for the front. once i learned they made narrow flares, my mind was made up. and now having handled the PS fenders... i see why they're more money.. holy crap are they stout...

i did get the corner armor (crusher corners) also, from PS, eventually all that stuff will be here and i'll have a lot of step by step stuff there. i have the TF heavy duty hinge. i was concerned that the PS crusher corners wouldn't work with the larger hinge. i'll have to cut about 1/4" off of the corners (around the hinge) but the guys at PS assured me i'd be good.

i'll post all about my nut cert bliss here in a couple days (hopefully)

that was one of the motivating factors for the smittybilt stuff... armor - true armor - i could ding my corners hopping on rocks and be okay.

somehow I find the pic of the Jeep at a gas station to be very appropriate.

Nice looking Jeep. I like the shot of you going over the squash pipes.

Yeah the extra $600 needed to get the same amount of armor as xrc is the only hard part to swallow. In the mean time I'm content to drooling over your success

That is one sweet rig my friend. The only thing that could make it better starts with an H and ends with an I. EM is in the middle along with many $$$$$$.

Thanks for inspiring me to someday do the same to my 13.

thanks... ha! no hemi conversion for me. almost done though. i am going to remove the BDS springs, shocks, and arms, and replace them probably with TF stuff.

not happy with the BDS stuff. it did it's job but the bushings in the arms are done... the shocks... well, enough. we'll see.. so some suspension stuff, skid plates, and a sport cage... and we'll call it.

too much money... that's for sure

Money is what you need to make mods to the Jeep. It isn't too useful for much of anything else these days!

tabber,
Nice build thread. I assume you're happy with the Synergy steering parts? I have 34,000 on my stock ball joints and I think I'll be replacing them soon with Synergy and maybe do the tie rod and drag link flip at the same time. I also want to do the TB relocation bracket so I can get my trackbar and Fox ATS SS on the bracket.

Btw, the Matanzas jeep club made a trip to Choccolocco Mountain in Alabama last month and it is outstanding. I'm looking forward to a return trip. You might want to check it out and see if it's worth a trip there. About 7 hours from the Jacksonville area.
