I hear you StarBrite, but I'm one of those that prefers my Jeep clean. I'm okay with beach sand and back roads dust, but not mud.......

Yeah, I haven't quite gotten over the whole 'leave your jeep dirty' thing. If he's dirty, how can anyone see his decals or what a beautiful shade of blue he is?

My Jeep was mean't to be clean for the most part! I'm not a mudder or rock crawler so not in to my Jeep being caked in mud all the time. My Jeep was purchased with the intent of it getting me to places where I want to shoot pictures, nothing more.

Ordered my Rampage Recovery front bumper from 4WD.com while it was on sale. The timing was perfect because Friday I sold the 5 original tires and wheels that were on my wife's 2013 JKU Sahara. I had upgraded her to the ones that came on my JK Polar.

It was $535 plus tax and free shipping. They called me this afternoon and said it would be in tomorrow. We made a quick trip down to Kerrville and will head back tomorrow, then Thursday will be in Oklahoma so told them I would pick it up later in the week.

You should have called me and we could have gone out for a burger and/or a brew! Kerrville is only 20 miles south of Fredericksburg

This was a spur of the moment trip that happened because I finally found a decent price on a hotel room but we had to change our schedule. Our original plan was to come for Friday and Saturday nights but we either couldn't find a room or they were double the usual price. I guess spring break and SXSW really jacked things up.

So are you from the Fredericksburg area? We passed thru Fredericksburg area several times yesterday and today and will again in the morning on our way home. Forgive me, I'm still learning where everyone is from! Was doing photography recon getting ready for bluebonnet season. Did the Willow City loop, plus several other roads that are known for great bluebonnet fields. On our way back tomorrow we are checking the Llano area as well. We still haven't checked out the Bastrop and Brenham area yet. We, or I, may be back to check out those 2 places before full blown wildflower season. Will be back for however many days are needed when everything starts to bloom. We can't wait to meet everyone and there will be plenty of opportunities. Will meet you soon!!!

Sounds like you got a great deal! Congratulations!

For what it's worth, 042 is my friend with the glossy Rampage bumper.

I wasn't born here but got here as soon as I could My family transplanted to Texas in 1995 and I have lived in and around Fredericksburg for the majority of the time since.
SXSW + spring break are bringing folks to the area but FBG (and to some extent Kerrville) is a hot spot for weekend getaways for folks in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, etc. We have something like 200+ bed and breakfasts in FBG plus some good sized hotels and some weekends EVERYTHING is booked.

I don't keep up with the wildflower season, but Willow City loop is breathtaking when we have had enough rain; this year we probably haven't. Also keep in mind Willow City loop is all private property and the land owners are kind enough not to fence everyone out. There is no public easement on roadside and if you pull out and stop the land owners WILL call the sheriff's department. I think they still have signage, but even if they don't nothing has changed. I don't know any of the landowners, but with some digging you should be able to come up with some contact info to request special privileges

Can't wait to see pictures!

Mike has a Superwinch, and their customer service treated us like gold when we needed it!

I ordered it from Quadratec and got a forum deal on the price and shipping.

Just checked amazon and price looks comparable to what I paid Christmas 2012, and it's on Prime.

I'm actually a born and raised Okie. Retired and moved to Texas 5 years ago because of my wife's job but have never looked back. The Texas flag decals came from pixeldecals.com.
