WranglerEvo's Detonator 2Dr Build

Hi everyone,

Thought I would start my build thread as I'm finally starting to add mods to the Jeep.

This is my first Jeep, and I'm looking forward to learning a lot while upgrading her. Seems like a good vehicle to work on.

Some facts:
  • 2009 2dr X
  • 3.73 Gears
  • Auto
  • Bought when it had 67k miles, have since put on it nearly 8k

Mods purchased so far:
  • Trucklites
  • Ace Rock Sliders

On the way home from the dealer

Some exploring

Trucklites Install

Ace Rock Sliders Install

Note: I thought I would be able to get away with grinding with just one side, but to have it sitting flush inside the block, it needs to be trimmed on either side.

Photo of the rubber bushing holding the body mount bolt, just for reference

Yummy, two of the four body mounts had this buildup of dirt

Old but trustworthy grinder I borrowed

Who needs friends, here's my awesome setup for installing the sliders

Aftermath of 4 washers

Whats the next big steps will be:

  • Rubicon Springs and Shocks (Discovered today that the front springs are different rates )
  • 33" Tires and rims
  • Front and Rear bumpers

So after getting fed up of my windshield washer not working, I decided to try and find the cause. I had previously been filling it with Rain X Bug remover, and noticed that the power of the spray was getting worse in the recent period.

So while trying to initially fish around for any foreign contaminants in the tank, I found this...

Thanks Rain X It's obviously slime that is the same color as Rain X liquid, and I noticed last time I poured it in there was something in the bottle, but I didn't think too much of it.

So after getting this junk out, I still had to get to the pump as it was still blocked.

I removed all the washer fluid and got it looking like this...

Removed the electrical connector, and pulled the pump up. This is what I found

A bit of degreaser, hot water and a toothpic to remove remaining slime...

And replaced it with Einszett Kristall Klar concentrate washer fluid. Comes in a neat bottle, and is good for about 7 gallons, and costs $10.

Also went ahead and greased up my electrical connectors with Dielectric of my Trucklites, since one side was flickering. Hopefully that takes care of it.

Painted my front grille with plastidip, turned out good, as soon as the weather clears up I'll post up a photo.

I'm having the exact same issues now after putting this RainX bug remover in!! How hard is it to get this reservoir apart and get to the pump to clean it?
