Bought a 02 tj with 160000 miles on it and I'm thinking about fixing it up there is nothing wrong with it I plan on spending around 13 thousand
To fix it the way I want it I payed 6800 for it should I build Tia one or find another to build
I have a 01 with 145k will a lift tires, rims, bumpers, winch, softtopper. I paid about what u did. I love mine. Want to build front and back rears with gears and lockers. For 13k u can have a very, very bad ass jeep.
Good thing is the 4.0 is a good strong motor. Lots of aftermarket parts for it. FYI I see a good amount of people on here that have over 250k on there 4.0. Or a motor swap could be in your future.
Well since your most likely going to upgrade the axles and I would assume the suspension, tie rods, track bars, maybe beef up the transfer case, brakes and every other part of the drivetrain and steering systems then does mileage really matter? I mean your going to change out pretty much all parts that wear out with high mileage so in the long run what does the mileage really matter. If you don't like the motor you can drop a new 6cyl in there pretty cheaply and maybe add the banks turbo to the exsisting motor which could then be transferred over to the new motor if need be. Yeah why worry about high mileage unless the frame and bodys affected. Just my $0.02
Ya that's what I was thinking also but on a side note I was thinking about when or if I sell it will having high miles vs low miles bring the price tag down I'm also trying to think finachaly for the long run even tho jeep means just empty every pocket lol
13k don't think there is not to much u can do. Plus u already have a jeep so 13k will go a long way. The mare work u do yourself the farther it will go. Good luck.
