Just tinted the front windows, I like the look, also did the distributor cap and spark plug wires but had to buy a new distributor itself, so it's all brand new, handled the Long Island snow beautifully

if anyone is still following this, I just finished wiring up the KC lights by the windshield, also POR15'd some things under the hood such as the fuel rail and brake booster to make it look better. Also got the inspection done and replaced an 8ft long steel hose for the evap system. Finally going to get to doing the rear track bar relocation bracket and front track bar hopefully tomorrow. I also discovered that my power steering pump has a slight leak and the oil pan is rusted and leaks slightly as well. I also installed an extended tire carrier and mirror movers for when I take the doors off

looks great!! like the looks of the tires on there. how has it handled the NY snow? we got quite abit in ON, but more snow=more fun Im planning on doing my fenders tomorrow. Do u recommend bedliner or krylon black. and eventually add the windshield lights. i'll check out the quadratec kit. how was the wiring for the lights ?

Handled the NY snow just fine, my previous 97 with the 31x10.5 general grabbers to me seemed to handled snow better but the KM2's aren't bad, on my 97 I used spray on bedliner to do the flares, came out well but chipped because I didn't prep them before hand, I'm sure either are fine as long as you properly prep the fenders before painting them, just mainly comes down to if you want a textured feel or a smooth feel. The lights weren't too bad to wire up. If you buy a kit it'll come with the wiring and relay and switch needed, I didn't buy a kit since I got them from my father so I had to get my own relay and switch but it's not difficult, just a little time consuming to do it right and make it look clean.

Yeah with the kit for the light every thing was already wired together and basically the hard parts were mouthing the relay and switch and finding a good place for a ground but other than that is just plugging things in and fitting wires between the panels

It should, yeah. I got 3" solid inches out of the springs off a 4-door, I don't see why a 2-door would be different!

I have heard that the two door springs won't really give much lift, the front might lose lift with them, it all comes down to the number on the spring tag, the ones I have are 18 in the front and 59 in the rear, and I still needed a spacer in the front to actually give some lift

I'd suggest getting some sand paper with a low grit and sand the fenders to rough them up, then clean it with a cleaner and a wax/degreaser, then use a primer (probably one or two coats) and then you can paint it with whatever you want, either the krylon fusion or bedliner

Hey I was wondering what did you replace the bad steel evap line with? I'm needing to replace mine since it's got rot holes going through it? Any idea if a leaky evap line would hurt mpg?
I really like the way your jeep is coming alone. I've been working my way through building/repairing my Jeep since I got it over a year also.

I had the line replaced by my mechanic because I brought it in to get the inspection done (strict up here in NY) the line was $32 so I decided to let him do it, I got slightly better gas mileage with the fixed evap leak

Just put on my new sway bar links and new soft top, I decided to go with the quadratop because it seemed to be good based on other forum members, and it was a great price, looks great and fits tight, changing the rusted oil pan tomorrow

Haven't posted in a while, being in college and all, but it has been snowing a lot and the jeep is running beautifully in it. I have some pictures but they exceed my quote? so WF isn't letting me upload them.

Some people put them on photobucket and link them or you could get a paid membership

Are you still considering a tire carrier? I know being a college kid doesnt give you much spending freedom, but it would be essential to avoid your rear door from warping from your tire's weight.

You never mentioned replacing your rotor. You replaced the cap, wires, and plugs but no rotor???
Love the dc2s on there too.

Eventually I would like to get one, but as of right now my funds are too low to even consider it, I'm just going to extend the bump stops on the tire carrier to help with the inevitable warping caused by the 33.

Sold the KC spotters and the fog lights and picked up some eBay LED lights, 4 inch spotters for the windshield mounts and a 12 inch combo spot/flood for the front bumper, I like the light output a lot more, and it only cost me $8 more than the money I got for selling the other lights

I am also a college student and getting married soon so money is definitely limited! It is always good to see college builds because it is usually in my range in terms of cost. Also saw you are at Stony Brook. I am graduating from Liberty University in May, I think we lost to you guys again in football and knocked us out of the playoffs haha. Anyway, cool build and cool to see another red jeep!

Your build looks like it is coming along nicely. Being another college student I know how it is trying to go to school and having hobbies.
You got a good deal on an un molested jeep. I have been trying to find another one myself.

So while trying to attempt to put on my new rear shocks, which failed since I couldn't get the upper shock bolts off, I discovered some rot on the drivers side of my frame, this is the only area, I went around and hit the frame everywhere hard with a screwdriver, it seems okay to leave for now since it doesn't get driven much while I'm at school, but it is definitely something that has to be addressed

I've heard the safe t caps frame replacement sections are out there. I'm sure someone will chime in with the link, but you'll have to have a welder and other materials. Plus, that's not nearly as bad as what I saw a jeep dealer trying to sell...it was terrible dude.
