Mine's gonna be a pretty basic clean up and paint some rusty bits kinda job. Here's a link to a total rebuild.

My WARN 8274 rebuild part 1.....

That winch will be a great addition to your trail rig. Lovin your new winch line.

I think I'll stick with the 8274.

Also, as a side note, I gained less than 10lbs in the switch, which was amazing I thought.

So you're saying that the 42 FPM no load line speed of the 9.0RC is fast?

I know the 8274 is faster :P

Just sayin' all the buggies run em, prolly has something to do with it weighing 54lbs, deep gear ratio, 9,000lb rating!

Plus, at 2,000lbs that 8274 is only 4FPM faster Lol. All in good fun, I love both of the winches. That 8274 is a beastly classic :rockroll:

Wow. Been a while since I posted here. My Jeep lives on as my Daily Driver. Still doing it's thing, on and off the pavement. Ready for it's third Moab trip this spring.

Awesome build. How's the 8.8 holding up? I haven't read anything on the subject of ABS with the 8.8. If I swap from a D35 to an 8.8 from ecgs, I will no longer have ABS, right? How is the braking in your case?

Also, being a DD, is the 8.8 and tummy tuck comfortable at high speeds (i.e. feel like stock)?

I've put approximately 50K miles on it since I did the axle swap and TT. No problems at all. Still drive it every day. Braking is probably better than it was with the drum brakes on the D35. I just don't have ABS anymore. I actually like that better, especially on the trails. ABS is scary on the trail.
