Ageless Stranger's Build Thread

Well, the time has come for me to start my first build thread. I elected not to do one when I installed my OME lift because it is a pretty common thing around here. But, since I didn't I thought I'd share phase 2 with everyone. Here is the bill of materials.

Ford 8.8 (ARB locker, 4.56 gears)
SYE & Double cardan driveshaft
Rokmen up armor high clearance belly skid
Rokmen rear upper adjustable control arms (Sweet! )
Front axle regeared with ARB locker done locally. (well, semi-locally anyway)

The goods came from Rokmen today. (sorry to everybody in the last person thread, you get to see these again! Future pics will be placed here alone. ) Dave's products are beautiful. I can't wait to see them on my rig!

If it wasn't for me wanting to get a second vehicle, I'd have spent a lot more money on the TJ in the last couple of months.

You mean while you're here? Because I think we could do a lot of building on El Diablo over a long weekend.

If I get the job that I am trying for, I don't think I will have much time this summer to work on him. I will have to do it either at your place or Ed and Dinah's next winter. It things work out I will be in Ky, for about 2 1/2 months next winter.

We can do it here. That's no problem at all. Then we can "test" it if we can find somewhere suitable to go for the "test".

Update: Today I installed the ARB air compressor. Here's a pictorial of how it went.

Set the pattern on the inner fender and drilled the holes. I could only get three usefull holes, the forth just wasn't practical and the three bolts I have in it hold it very steady.

This is the standoff I made for the single rear bolt.

Bolted down.

Switch wiring harness. (Provided)

Compressor wiring harness. (Also provided)

Grommet I chose to pass harness through.

Inside view.

Wiring all connected up. (Except solenoids)

Had to remove the defrost vent cover and center stack cover to remove the radio. This allowed access to a panel illumination wire, as well as facilitated easy routing of the power wire to the back of the glove compartment.

Radio sticker. (Wiring diagram. I used the Ill. wire for the radio to power the Ill. wire in the harness.)

Here's how it turned out.

Seperate. 3 switches total. I'm going to fab a bracket and mount it down on the bottom of the dash in front of the t-case shifter.
