I have an old set of 33 engineering (out of business) metal plates to install standard 5.25" speakers and they sound immensely better than stock. Especially with the component tweeters mounted on the windshield trim where I can actually hear the highs. I imagine these might work even better with enclosed backs. I just stuffed some baffling behind mine. Try them out and let us know.
I have a set of those too (adaptor platecfor 5.25) huge improvement over the stock 4 by 6 .
I really didn't want to spend that kind of money on it but I did it any way.
Going through not spending withdrawl This winter. So I spent $$$ today.
Well, I was bad... I did not take pictures...
But it took me about 20 minutes to install. There is definiately a sound difference. The sound is tighter.
Bass is improved, but do I think that they are worth $80+?????
Probably Not...
Really won't know until this spring when the HT comes off.
I'd still like to add a set of dash tweeters and maybe a sub...
Tweeters will be a definite...
Not really sure a sub would really be that great in a TJ
