More about the axle swap. My father misheard and the guy did not have dana 60's for sale. He is planning to switch to dana 60's. However, he said whenever he swaps his axles, he is redoing all suspension and driveline on his jeep. He offered me his HP dana 44 front axle, ford 9" rear axle, all of the control arms, and beefy adjustable track bars. They are geared at 5.13, rear is spooled, and both are trussed. Only problem is, this will be a ton of money, but I could run 37" tires safely if I do this swap. I just don't know if I want to go bigger than 35's. So this is a possibility depending on how much he is asking.

Updates

I snapped both of my quick disconnect sway bar lanyards on that trail. The only replacement kit I can find is this Sway Bar Lanyard Kit so I will order these eventually. Cheap fix. Also, my friends and I will be attending the Jeep Jamboree in Deadwood this summer so we have to get his and my jeep ready for that. I will be doing the Poison Spyder XC High-line aluminum front fenders as soon as college gets out. I will be monstalining them just like my rock sliders. We will be doing Poison Spyder aluminum crusher flares for his 2015 jeep Willys this winter as well. And we both have to buy CB radio's to go on the trails. I will most likely buy this mount or something similar https://www.4wd.com/p/rugged-ridge-c...-BKMS-13551.09
I will still be on my 33s until I do my rear end swap, so the Poison Spyder high-line fenders may look a little funky on my jeep for a while. We are planning to go to the Black Hills more often for off roading trips. This will definitely push me to do my rear end swap so I can run 35's.

My throttle position sensor went bad so I have to replace that sometime this week. Also the jeep jamboree of South Dakota is way later than we expected and is during college so we are going to do the original plan and camp out by camp 5 road and run through all the nearby trails. Not sure when we will be going, whatever works out best for everyone going.

Replaced the TPS today, pretty straightforward and took 10 minutes to do. Hopefully that fixed the problem. Wasn't too fun driving on the highway with that sensor going bad.

Also replaced the snapped sway bar lanyards. Zone hooked me up and I got both replacement straps shipped for 10 bucks. This winter will mainly be focused on the jeep, lots of things happening to it.
I'm going a completely different route for the CB and am working on the mount now, definitly should turn out unique. I don't think it's been done before.

Have a few updates now.
This last weekend I did some TLC and small upgrades to the jeep (led's in the tail lights, trailer hitch for a rear recovery point, seafoam to clean injectors, stuff like that). Besides the TLC, here is what else is going on with the jeep build.
First, the full size cb won't fit where I wanted it to after making the bracket, so I will be going with a cobra 75 and do a stealthy setup.

Second, 4wd.com has the 12 days of christmas sales going on. I ordered the winch I was going to order a week ago for way cheaper, good thing I waited. I got the Warn Zeon 10,000 synthetic model for $799.99.

Third, I will be doing Aluminum Poison Spyder XC front fenders after school gets out, montsalined to match the rest of the armor.

After the winch, CB, and fenders are installed, it is time for me to save up money again and be in the market for a ford 8.8 rear end swap. sticking with 4.56 gears to match the front and will be running 35" tires. I will probably do a short arm 4-link set up.

Also I will be helping a friend install a nice lift kit (not fenders anymore) and CB on his 2015 willy's this christmas break and will video the process. I'm going to start doing install videos and jeeping videos on my youtube channel.
Our jeeps will be all set and ready for the black hills trip this summer, it's going to be a blast and I will most likely make a video over that as well.

My plans have been all over the place lately, but these plans are final in that order (hopefully).

Awesome jeep. Pretty expensive for a "college build" though!

Thanks! You're telling me! I don't want to cheap out on parts since I don't see myself ever selling the jeep. I'd rather build it slow and quality than fast and cheap

That's smart! I saw you mention you're in school to be an RN. I just graduated with my RN and bought my Jeep for a project vehicle. Always lots of work to do.

Congratulations! My long term goal is to be a CRNA (nurse anesthetist). I have 3 semesters left until I graduate

Warn Medium Duty Winch Bag

Tight fit! I also have a bunch of tools and equipment packed in the winch bag. Everything I would ever possibly need is packed in, including a second recovery strap. Even the whole ARB trail setup (tire repair kit, deflator, and inflator). Building a subwoofer box that goes in the rear seat will definitely be on the to do list. Having the extra space would be well worth it.

Today I also changed my oil to Mobil 1 full synthetic 10w30 and rotated my tires. Has been a productive day!

Update

Ive been looking on craigslist for a while for a ford 9" axle or an 8.8 (prefer a 9"). Cobra 75 will be installed in April. And Poison Spyder highline aluminum 3" fenders will be in May.

Update

I was on the phone with Poison Spyder about fenders. They said they discontinued the aluminum version of the 3" XC fenders due to lack of sales. So instead of aluminum, I purchased the steel version with the vented inner fenders for $700 from Northridge yesterday. UPS says they will be here Friday. Now I am going to order primer and monstaliner for the fenders, hood pins, and por15 to touch up the hood where I cut for hood pins and fenders. I am going to line the edge of the hood where I cut with automotive trim. Not sure when I will be installing everything though. I may leave my jeep at home and work on it weekends when I come back from college.
