First Jeep Build

So my parents got me a jeep for Christmas and I love it!!! It's a 2001 jeep wrangler with a 4cyl engine and a 5spd manual transmission and completely stock. I just don't know where to start! First off I'm 17 and I'm on a budget but I don't want to do anything half ass and have it ending up screw me over! Obviously I want to put a lift kit and bigger tires on it. I just wanna hear some suggestions on what to do before I rush into it! Thanks

Don't jump straight into it ride it out for awhile you'd be amazed what it can do stock if you want he max amount performance without killing mpg I suggest 33s with like 4inches of lift then go for A new bumper

Pretty sure he said a budget... So thats not very logical.

Search craigslist for some rims, and possibly some tires. You'd be amazed at what you can find on craigslist. 30's or 31s will do.

You would be amazed how much of a difference some rims and tires make

Since you are in TX you can find great deals on craigslist. I would find out when the jeep had its last tune up if recent ok if not or unable to find out I would recommend a nice tune up. All the mods won't mean anything if your jeep rides like crap or can't even drive for that matter. Really think of what exactly you want before spending the money. Also, save for the quality parts, this will prevent from double spending. Most importantly enjoy your jeep.
