First of all I'd like to say that I'm a little late on the upload. I got the jeep roughly a year ago and it is a '02 se with 53,000 miles on it. Since then I have done some big and some small modifications to it. Mods include:
~a new quadratec black diamond sailcloth replacement top
~smittybilt roll bar covers
~cover king seat covers
~a set of Polk audio replacement speakers for dash and soundbar since the old ones were blown.
~a new sony head unit
~new LEDs for the dash and for the dome light
~5 32x11.5r15 bf goodrich mts
~5 15x8 mammoth wheels
~3 inch zone off-road suspension lift kit
Here are some pictures of the jeep as it has evolved.
Thanks I really appreciate all the work I've put in is crazy and I look forward to learning even more through this amazing piece of fine machinery . Sorry I didn't notice your comment sooner
Finally done with audio. Installation of my subwoofer was quite brief and only took me about 3 hours even though I had to take the seat out. All wiring is hidden and the sub is now under the drivers seat secured so the floor with a sheet of Velcro. Had to cut the carpet under the drivers seat, but I don't plan on having it on there forever. Despite how small it is 5.75x8.5 it hits hard enough to sound like a 10. Great product and would recommend to anyone looking to get a decent, but not door rattling amount of bass in their jeep.
The sub is attached under the drivers seat via Velcro. It also came with a remote which I attached to the center console. For the wiring I attached to the head unit with an rca cable. There was also another wire (blue/white) that goes to the back of the headunit. The power comes right from the battery. It's a nice little sub and produces enough bass but not too much. I would recommend this sub as it comes with all necessary wiring except the Rca cable. It is also very compact and easy to conceal. I hope this info helps.
thanks for the help. seems really easy to wire. i thought i saw somewhere that you could run your speakers through it too? but i see amazon has it for $158 that seems like a great price. thanks again! your jeep looks great
Why would you choose to fire the sub at the rear door? Do you have a concern of damaging the speaker with stuff in the back of the Jeep? What about damaging the door from the vibrations? I know sound waves from a subwoofer are omni-directional but directly firing that at the door seems like it would cause more of an issue that firing it at the back of the rear seat. Thoughts?
Birthday and 1 year anniversary presents for my soon to be girlfriend. Dry spell since I'm 18 and only make ~150 in tips and ~60 overall hourly every weekend. And I'm a college student . I wanna regear eventually but idk if there'll be a point because my engine is being run by four squirrels.
