After getting all the factory gauges working, i was having trouble with them cutting out every so often. It was the prongs on the backside of the cluster that was tarnishing that was causing it to go out every so often. I was having this problem before the build started .I read up on these cluster issues and decided that i wanted to change the looks of my dash anyway. I wanted everything to look and work like factory but the sound of this thing cranking up gives all the factory workings away. In other words, when i turn the key on and it cranks, everyone around knows that its everything but factory. I chose auto-meter Elite series gauges for the instrument cluster. These gauges are the best in my opinion. Theres even a pre-cautionary flashing back light that flashes when you exceed a perimeter. In other words, these gauges will get your attention and warn you even before your "dummy light " or check gauge lights come on. So here is what i had before the autometer cluster

Wait......WHAT??????

Maybe I will reconsider the D44 swap and just upgrade my axles. I only plan on running 33's......

The IPC looks badass

Whats your driving habits? heavy foot? light foot? and tell me why you NEED a D44 ????? A D44 wont bullet proof the axle. What motor do you have?? 4.0??? IMO your better off with the axles for the money IMO.
sleeve the tubes and be done with it

And how hard do you off road? If ever? I broke 3 d30 axles shafts in the last month. Thats only with 35x12.50. With 33 inch tires and little off roading you could seek past with a d35 but I would upgrade

I wasn't trying to hijack your thread but since you asked

I have the 4.0 and I don't have a heavy foot. I have 3.07 gears and after all my research it seems a D44 swap would be cheaper and easier than upgrading axles, gears and carrier(locker). Found a D44 out of an LJ with 3.73's and trac-lok for $800.
