Ive drove mine for over a year without a front sway bar, at first it was a little scary, but the oem shocks were shot so it rolled a little to much into the turns, once i replaced the shocks u can barely notice it, but looks very nice, gave me some more ideas for my jeep! i love that color too its nice.

it keeps the body more level pretty much and limits how much the suspension can flex pretty much, so if u go over a rock or something. instead of the wheel just going up with the suspension and the axle moving, the whole body leans.

I suggest reading over this article:
HowStuffWorks "How do stabilizer bars work?"

You could probably go to a local pick and pull for the Anti-Sway bar. Then grab some JKS quick disconnect sway bar links, and call it a day.

You'll be glad you did.

Having the sway bar will help with the quality of the ride on-road and then use the disconnects for when i want more flex off road? Thanks i'll read that article now!

The sway bar will help body roll especially during high speed maneuvers. Example, a Prius cuts you off on the freeway. Your instincts kick in and quickly, hardly thinking of it, change your lane to the left lane. The sway bar helps preventing the right front corner from taking a dive making the chances of loss of control high. Drawback, it will limit you flex ability. Then now you need to balance max flex with usable flex.

First thing- you had a mechanic look at this?!!!

few things, and it might just be the way I am seeing things in the pics.... but I would worry about this stuff before spit shining the interior!

Front swaybar- as you now know, is missing. Those ProComp shocks might be stiff enough to help control that sway under normal driving, but as mentioned I would not trust it in a sudden maneuver.....don't want to see that nice jeep rolled, or more importantly you hurt.

Front coil spacers - they look loooonnngggg. What size or how much pucks are above those front springs?? more than 2" is widely considered a bad idea. The rears look like 2", fronts more like 3". The danger here is the coils can come off the upper mounts and fall out!!

bumpstops - rear missing on the driver side by the looks of it. Neither look extended by any means, which with larger tires and shocks will cause tire rubbing and/or shock damage.

Rear Shocks - for being on a lift and the axle hanging, those shocks look pretty collapsed.... as mentioned with the bumpstops, if you bottom those out alot, shock or mount damage is eminent, plus the ride will stink. Actually, the driver rear does not even appear to be attached, that is probably why it looks short!!!

Trackbars – did not notice any correction for the lift, which might be fine, you need to measure to see if the axle is centered. Again, this can cause tire rub, and other issues. (my LJ has 2” lift and the front is perfectly centered, but the rear is off a good ¼” (to be corrected shortly)).

Noticed no t-case drop or SYE, just be careful of vibes.

Do a search or ask about any of these items for more clarification. That is a nice looking Jeep with a lot of potential. Good luck!

what do you mean you had it looked at by a mechanic?
Thanks for the help, do you know where i could get a front sway bar?
Im pretty sure the spacers are a little over 2 inches, thats all the lift i have. also not sure about the trackbar, still figuring stuff out. Im an still a newbie, but what are bumpstops. AND, the driver side rear shock wasnt attached in the picture but is now. Didnt know i needed a SYE or t-case drop with only a 2 inch lift. Thanks again!!

My swaybar hasn't been hooked up in 3 years,30k miles
I have a 2" suspension lift,I drive safe and normal, the only time I can tell the bar isn't hooked up is when I turn sharp on interstate ramps.still she handles fine.

I ride trails and full flex alot.no issues at all

crap, just had a nice response typed out and lost it.... anyway!

I was just commenting on the fact you said a mechanic checked it out, but it seems he did not mention a few of these things to you... caught the shock, I missed that in your previous post..

They maybe only 2" spacers up front, it just looks like more. No biggie, just bringing it to your attention.

I took another look at the pics. I thought it was just the links that were missing, but it appears the whole bar is gone. I would post in the wanted section, watch some of the forum for sale sections, craigslist, or maybe a local yard. As mentioned, you don't absolutely need it, but I would get one and make that decision on your own and not based on opinions from the internet.

Do a seach on bumpstops. They are the rubber things that should be on the end of the upper spring mounts (what your spacers are slid over). They are not hard to find via google. They are there to stop the suspension from over compressing and causing damage.

You might not need a SYE or drop, but I was again making you aware. If you have any vibes out of the driveline, make sure to address it before it causes damage to the ujoints or other components.

Do some reading of the stickies and FAQs on some of the jeep sites. There is alot of reliable, accurate, and useful info in them. Here is a link I like to reference a bit, Unlimited04 is on here and jeepforum. Unlimited04's LJ Build - JeepForum.com

Good luck!

Since you already have no sway bar, I would look at this if funding permits:
Currie Enterprises CJ Axle Parts

i am currently replacing my clock spring and re-aligning my steering wheel. OF COURSE something went wrong, i forgot to put the nut back on the bolt shaft coming out of the steering wheel and ruined the threads on the top of the bolt. Now using a die and tap set to fix it and put the new clock spring in....

looks nice, I like the matching headlight bezel color. I'm trying to get rid of my jeep now to buy a stock one and start all over. ill be going on my 4th jeep since 16 (18 now) I'm pretty excited, I joined the service and won't have any college bills for my next semester of college so all my money goes to....my (new-to come) jeep!
