I purchased my 02 tj In August, and have so far:
Installed a 2" Tera bb, New Cragar wheels, New 31" general grabber tires, Coverking seat covers,Skyjacker steering stabilizer, skyjacker hydro shocks Kc 100w driving lights, front recovery hooks (rear coming this week). Well that has me caught up to the present, and here are the pics:
Thanks. Ill try and snap some pics of the interior when I take the top off to put the rampage top... Hopefully nj will have some warm weather this week to help me out
I feel your pain. It was snowing yesterday here and today it was 70 and sunny. Then in the 40's the rest of the week. I just want summer so the top and doors can be off! :banghead:
Well brown Santa delivered my top today and I'm going to try to put it on tonight and if it's too cold then leave the windows out until tomorrow afternoon
I mean how high do you want it? The 4.25 inch combo lift by zone offroad is great, and only 600 which includes all the upgrades (quick disconnects, nitro shocks, and colored shock boots) zLeaving you 1000 dollars to send to me for the help
I've been debating between the 4.25 or just doing a 1.25" bl and 1" Mml but I'm thinking since I eventually want to run 35's the 4.25 may be a better idea
Yeah. The 4.25 really is the best for the price. You don't have to change all your driving shaft and all that. Just an easy lift. Save the 800 on install and just pay 20 for a case of beer and invite your friends to help
Well today I swapped in my dana 44 rear I stole on craigslist for $400 the swap went pretty smoothly thanks to my friends air tools. A good impact wrench and air ratchet are now on my must buy list.
I did appreciate my girlfriend helping me though gotta love a girl who isn't afraid to get dirty.

dang she even has work boots on!!! My girlfriend helps me but she doesn't wear workboots. I will have to show her the picture of your girlfriend. :thumb:
IMO it's alright if all you want is clearance. I am switching to bds springs and bilstein shocks for a better ride and more up travel... If I had to do it again I would just wait until I had the cash to do coils.
Brown Santa dropped this off today. Rolled both coats can't wait for it to dry.
I would highly recommend monstaliner to anyone. From my experience so far it seems like a great product. Their customer service is fantastic as well, with Magnetman on JF making sure my order shipped quickly so I could line my tub this weekend.
Decided to put in my Bilstein 5100's and BDS 2" springs tonight. I took it for a test drive after, and all I can say is WOW! The ride is so much better than before, much smoother and it takes the bumps and curves much better.
That front end looks really nice. What did you use to paint it, and what all did you paint? I have the same color jeep, only the interior is tan. I would like to paint the front end as well to help it hold up a bit to the elements, and also plan on doing the blue monstaliner inside it.
I put it up on stands, pulled the tires, calipers, and rotors, and then used simple green and a power washer to clean it. After it dried, I pulled each part of the steering linkage and painted it, while they were off I painted my springs and axle. If you're going to leave the shocks on id recommend you cover the body with painters tape. I painted everything first with rustoleum primer then the satin black enamel. Should take 1.5 - 2 cans of paint.
Awesome write up thank you! I noticed my axels are a little rusty, hopefully that wont be much of an issue. Frame theres no rust on, but I want to get everything sealed up as soon as I can as we wheel alot in it.
Look at the rustoleum rust converting primer. I used it on my rear dana 44 when I swapped it in, and it worked flawlessly. It's kind of a terra cotta color compared to the white/gray normal primer
