I have wanted a Jeep since I was about six, and now, at 37 years old, I have made a childhood dream come true.
I bought my first Jeep the day before yesterday, a 2006 TJ, Flame Red.

Thanks to getting her at a great price with a low interest used car loan (it pays to pay your bills on time, lol) I am left with the ability to burn any money that I get for selling my old truck on extras for the Jeep. This is going to fun.

So let's start with a picture of her as I received her.

I will post pictures as she develops and I am sure that I will be asking plenty of questions.

The results of a busy weekend.
Red interior paint.

Built a rear deck to cover the storage area.

added bonus... it gave me something to strap my jack to.

And I pulled out the center console, removed the factory sub and test fit my amps for the upcoming sound system upgrade... THEY FIT!!!

Now $4k isn't what I paid for the Jeep, that's what I am getting for the Ranger that I am selling.

I paid $10,650 for the Jeep. Still a good deal based on what I was finding elsewhere.
The $4k from the Ranger.... I get to spend on the Jeep.

Redo the lift, custom stereo, new carpet and seat covers, armor kit, new top, lights, alarm, new flares...
Also planning on a tune up, all new brakes, shocks, etc.

Gonna be busy every weekend from now until Christmas. lol
How many miles are on it?

I read your post from the beginning and felt like I was enjoying your Jeep tranformation with you. Love the enthusiasm.

My only though as I got to this point is.... You must be well over that $4000.00 of play money from selling your truck. LOL

Yeah, I'm pretty much tapped out for now. Since I got a 12 months/no interest deal on the tires at Good Year I don't really count them though.

But I still have a pile of stuff in the corner that hasn't been done yet.

 I didn't expect to wake up and laugh so much this morning.

MickeYJ, the difference is the a ricer gets just any part that is removable painted... I actually went in with a plan. The layout creates a sort of "stripe" around the interior.
Plus, the paint actually matches the original exterior red perfectly.
There will be no more red paint, just what you see there.
It was done to liven it up a bit. When I think of Jeeps I think of them as being "fun" vehicles, and the the solid black interior was a bit depressing. lol

jrussblues, trying to explain out culture may be a lost cause. I know people that have moved here and didn't get it for at least a year. lol
But, I wouldn't live any where else. I love this city, and by that I mean the whole Greater New Orleans area, not just Kenner.
Kenner itself is ok, unless you need a brake tag. Then you have to deal with that one and only place to get them and they are only open during a full moon, on Tuesday, during high tide, between 1:00PM and 1:05PM.... at least that's what it feels like.
Before Kenner I lived on the West Bank.... that's like a whole different country..... and moving to Kenner sometimes feels like I sold out.
Maybe some day I will move up and get a place in Metairie.

First off Dragonii, love the thread. You have a tight looking rig. As for the interior, I think it's clean and simple. My jeep is Hick on the outside and **** on the inside if you'll forgive my stereotypes. I have the classic bumblebee outside (yellow/black) and did a blue and yellow paint scheme on the interior with blue underglow lights under the front and rear seats. To each his/her own.

Keep up the good work.

Rugged Ridge.
I like the armor. It' basically ABS plastic that attaches with double sided tape and some screws that already exists on the Jeep. I like the look, it seems to cover all the areas where branches and stuff are most likely to hit (except the windshield frame) and it be easily removed without causing any permanent damage to the vehicle.
Only issue I had was that we installed it on a humid day and some of the tape didn't hold in the long run. The front driver fender piece came lose as well as the hood trim. Just stuck it back down using some 3M adhesive tape and it's all good now.
Only holes that need to be drilled anywhere are two under the edge of the hood, everything else uses existing screws or tape.

P.S. I went and looked at the Bushwaker stuff..... same exact thing.
