C'mon mickeyj, you've gotta see the rest of the state. Make a day trip up to big bear or something. It's an hour drive...and well worth it.

I didn't expect to wake up and laugh so much this morning.

MickeYJ, the difference is the a ricer gets just any part that is removable painted... I actually went in with a plan. The layout creates a sort of "stripe" around the interior.
Plus, the paint actually matches the original exterior red perfectly.
There will be no more red paint, just what you see there.
It was done to liven it up a bit. When I think of Jeeps I think of them as being "fun" vehicles, and the the solid black interior was a bit depressing. lol

jrussblues, trying to explain out culture may be a lost cause. I know people that have moved here and didn't get it for at least a year. lol
But, I wouldn't live any where else. I love this city, and by that I mean the whole Greater New Orleans area, not just Kenner.
Kenner itself is ok, unless you need a brake tag. Then you have to deal with that one and only place to get them and they are only open during a full moon, on Tuesday, during high tide, between 1:00PM and 1:05PM.... at least that's what it feels like.
Before Kenner I lived on the West Bank.... that's like a whole different country..... and moving to Kenner sometimes feels like I sold out.
Maybe some day I will move up and get a place in Metairie.

First off Dragonii, love the thread. You have a tight looking rig. As for the interior, I think it's clean and simple. My jeep is Hick on the outside and spic on the inside if you'll forgive my stereotypes. I have the classic bumblebee outside (yellow/black) and did a blue and yellow paint scheme on the interior with blue underglow lights under the front and rear seats. To each his/her own.

Keep up the good work.

Rugged Ridge.
I like the armor. It' basically ABS plastic that attaches with double sided tape and some screws that already exists on the Jeep. I like the look, it seems to cover all the areas where branches and stuff are most likely to hit (except the windshield frame) and it be easily removed without causing any permanent damage to the vehicle.
Only issue I had was that we installed it on a humid day and some of the tape didn't hold in the long run. The front driver fender piece came lose as well as the hood trim. Just stuck it back down using some 3M adhesive tape and it's all good now.
Only holes that need to be drilled anywhere are two under the edge of the hood, everything else uses existing screws or tape.
Amazon.com: Rugged Ridge 11650.60 Black Diamond Plate Body Armor Kit: Automotive

P.S. I went and looked at the Bushwaker stuff..... same exact thing.

lol, thanks for the inspiration bro. I love it.

I wanted to ask you, how clean are the lines on yours between the painted area and the non-painted?
If you go to an office supply store you can get this 1/4" black vinyl tape that they use to make grids on dry erase boards, run a line of it right at the paint edge. It sticks pretty well and leaves a nice clean edge.
If you look really hard you may be able to see it in the groove.

I actually painted the top and bottom portions black instead of the leaving it dark gray. But I still might use that trick cause the lines arent very sharp near the curves near the handles and pocket.

as for the ricer comment above, i think Krysta mispelled and it was supposed to say Nicer lol.

I started with Krylon Fusion, but it was too orange. So I picked up some Duplicolor Perfect Match Flame Red. I continued to use the Fusion as a sort of primer.

I cleaned the plastic with soap and water, wiped it off with acetone, laid about 3-4 coats of Fusion (red). I let it dry and then took the shine off of it with a Scotch Brite like sanding pad. Then I sprayed a few coats of the Perfect Match. After it dried I trimmed it with the tape.

Now to see if it will hold.
