Man, just read your whole thread. Jeep is looking good. But, why are you still debating on the axles? You keep changing your mind. Just pick a set and go with it. Just my .02. I like the build though.

Money isn't stopping me
I could do the full width swap liked cheaper than I could do chromo 30 with an 8.8.
It's just 35's are a big step up

Talked to the former welder at Insanity Offroad in Dallas,TX today, meet him last week at Discount Tire in Lebanon. Was talking to him about the jeep and he is building me a custom tie rod with the same specs as currie if not better.

Went out and bought my 14 year old stepson an 89 YJ today. 2.5, manual, 127,512 original one owner miles. Jeep is in great shape, and needs only minor cleaning. I thought it would be a good first vehicle for him. I can teach him automotive and maybe some tips about life and decisions thrown in. Your write up made me remember all the great times I had working on my own Jeep, and I hope my son has as much fun as I did!

I love the 4 cylinder, it gets too much crap from everybody. Easy to work on and the parts are cheap.

So I need advice from people who installed the Aussie. Should I spend the extra $30 bucks to get a new cross pinion shaft and thrush washers?
And will I have to reflush my diff fluid after I get home?

Well Aussie is here
Ordered new thrust washers and cross shaft from Chase at East Coast Gear Supply. Great customer service I must admit. Hopefully the lube locker will be tomorrow.

Well here's an update.
I sent the Aussie Locker back, decided to do steering

I went with RuffStuff Heim steering which uses DOM Tubing with Chromolly Heims. 1.25 inch round tie rod and drag link. Had to cut the swaybar links off because it puts it in a bind at full droop.
I also went with chromolly heim joint on Trackbar from RuffStuff.
Also bought synergy ball joints, moog wheel bearings, and new u-joints on D30 axle shafts. All done by Pure Insanity Offroad near Lebanon.
Me and friend did my brake lines from Pro-Comp, caliper on passenger side broke so we replaced both calipers.
The best part is I got to meet Carrie Underwood on my birthday!

Order Rock Krawler control arms today. Started with the front upper and lowers due to the fact that my current RC standard arm bushings are toast after Turkey Bay
