Talking MY YJ converted into a TJ Project!!!

Well, this has been my project all weekend long so far. I wish I would have taken some pics of the TJ before I stripped it to the frame. The frame in the pics belongs to a wrecked '05 TJ I bought for $700 (26K miles). The YJ in the pics is the donor body...This has been alot of work for 1 man so far. I am really sore this morning...Eithr i am getting old or too fat..probally both!! Please let me know if any of you have any tips for me in this swap over...

I also have a few parts left over if anyone is interested...I will post some pics of parts of in the for sale section

Not a direct bolt on, but anything is possible!

ok i see so your upper ones are the damaged ones... I'd get adjustable while ur at it since its only few bucks extra vs non adjustables.. If you plan on lifting it then get the adjustables now and save your self few bucks later.

The lower ones are bigger and thicker as far as i know. I've only replaced lowers.

However you can buy them seperately (front uppers/rear uppers or front lowers or rear lowers), you can even search your junk yard for some.

What i would do is buy adjustable lowers and put them in front (use 1 of the stocks to put in the rear since urs is damaged) and then buy adjustables uppers for the rear.

yes, stock control arms are all over the place. I have like 20 in the back now that im trying to get rid of. But if your not gonna lift that tj/yj, then just getting replacement stock control arms isnt a bad idea. I have friends that offroad with them and they hold up fine. Or go leaf sprung in the rear

Thanks guys!!! I hope to have it complete, and off-road the weekend of 12-15. I may even try my hand at a paint job before I strap the YJ body on the TJ frame..I'm thinking bright yellow or some sort of bright orange. Of course, I would like to get it together first. Typical me...already putting a paint job on it and i have'nt even got the Yj body off the frame yet!

Thanks Chad. i will definitely keep you in mind if this other guy backs out!!

The CA's are the only things that are stopping me from putting the YJ body on the TJ frame. I desperately need them!

I put a new exhaust system on it today. Man, it sure is eay to do when there is nothing in the way!!

I wish I could afford a lift! Right now would be the time to put it on for sure. As far as the dash goes, I am going to try to use the '05 dash with modifications of course. If that does not pan out, I am going to fab up a sheet metal dash with the TJ gauge cluster and AC/ heat control. Trust me, I have my hands full here. If any body has any ideas, please let me know!!
