Well, I started making the changes to my 06 Rubi today. I decided to go with a 1.25" BL got that installed today. Funny thing is I needed to air down to get it out of the garage because of the PO has a 6" lift... currently still on it. I got the BL done and cursed thinking I had to take it off then my brain started working and said just air down.

The plan is to put Bilstein shocks and RK Coils on tomorrow, assuming coils show up tomorrow. Then the next step after I figure out if my Pinon angle is still good, will be the Currie steering upgrade. Then I'm done for a while...NO Really I am...famous last words right...

Then sometime in the next 3 weeks mount my beadlocks myself...I've decided to stick with MT MTZ's been very impressed with them. So gotta buy new rubber.

I know for a lot of you doing this stuff yourself is not a big deal... But it feels really good to be able to say, "I did it myself"! Just figure it out and do it.

FYI>>> I will be selling my MOTO METAL RIMS and MTZ's in the coming month. 35" 5x4.5 16" If you're interested let me know...

Truck-Lites and HIDS...MOD done!

So this wasn't a planned mod but the price was right so...decided to go with the Truck-Lites and some HID driving lights. The difference with the TL is just unreal. Driving back from Buena Vista tonight just running the TL (low beams) alone and it was evident the amount of light being put out...then adding the HIDS and the night was like day. And not a single on-coming driver flashed us! Switching to the High Beams and it was almost unreal how far in front of us the road was lite up!

I wired the HIDS into the Fog light switch so when I turn my High beams on the HIDS shut off. I may have to move the light bar and HIDS around a bit the TL's put out such a broad "band" of light that the other lights on my bumper seem to create shadows on the road...something that wasn't an issue prior to the upgrade. So far I'm liking the upgrade...

I've been building my jeep for the last 3 years. Its a slow but steady process. Granted I've had some help along the way but, my DNA is on almost all the work. Your jeep looks great. In the future i would like to have the same style of tire carrier. I cant wait to see your jeep in action.

I completed my X-mas mod today. I decided on the Poison Spyder Hood Louver. Drilling and Cutting ones perfectly good hood is akin to jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. But you do it once and well it gets easier! LOL Only issue was the washer nozzle going back in the hood. I like the the contrast of the bare aluminum against the black Jeep.

I installed that Poison Spyder hood louver a few months ago and love both the function and the look. The aluminum looks great on your black Jeep. Did you throw a clear coat on it?

Well, I asked a lot of guys on WF that went with the raw look and pretty much all said they left it bare. I also talked to a powder coat shop here in the Springs and they didn't think CC would help long term and the other options was "Ball Brashing" and the louver was too big for the machine. So I decided to keep it bare and hope for the best...worst case I take it off/tape it up and rattle can it with a clear coat for wheels.

Looking good John. I think LED lights are moving up on my mod list and we have some hail damage on the hood, so trying to decide if I want to spend extra money on a new hood or just have them pop the dents out.

Got the Metal Cloak Fenders on today. Overall fairly painless about 6 hrs total. With everything being LED now I need to get the LED flasher... IMO Jeep looks so much better. :happyyes: As soon as MC offers free shipping again I'll be ordering the rear full armor corners/ flares.

Looks great! We need to get on the trail asap! After you get on the rear corners, what's next? If you are moving up in tire size are you going to stretch the wheelbase a bit? (consideration for the corners).... I like the raw aluminum look too..... no corrosion issues/need to touch up constantly...
