Hey TnDz TJ, are you still happy with your lift? I'm seriously considering buying one. Sent Joe at Quadratec a PM.

Thanks.....

I don't think the passenger side has the retainer clip....for some reason, mine didn't have one and never looked to be one there.

I ended up going with the RE BB spacers (1.75 inch) up front and 1 inch spacers (from Daystar) in the rear. This got rid of my rear vibrations and leveled my TJ out from front to back.

The only problem I had changing out shocks on the front of my Jeep is getting the front shocks off. They were so rusted up I ended up cutting them off with a sawzall.

It is a great price for what is does and how it performs. I have 95% of everything I need for a 4" lift in the garage... this BB was a 'get me by' and I am very happy with it...

Thanks TnDz TJ. I have some questions about tools needed for the job but your PM box is apparently full.

TnDZ TJ. Thanks for this write up. Mostly on the ramp placement. I just installed my BDS 2" coil/shock replacement last night, and this trick really helped. Took me a couple runs to get both oposite wheels up the ramp (mostly because I'm a panzy when it comes to ramps, I would clutch right at the top and spit the ramps out, but once I was on, very easy to do both sides. Thanks.

I've been following the thread with the intent of doing the same thing (although not sure I'll perform the work myself). Anyway, at 4 Wheel Parts yesterday and asked about a 2" BB, and one of the guys (who has ALWAYS given me good info) said if I go with the spacers instead of coils/shocks for the lift, the Jeep will sway and I'll feel like I'm riding on a flat tire. My tires, coils, and shocks are stock, 45K miles, and after a recent tire rotation and balance, drives better than it ever has. The lift is mainly for a more aggressive stance, would like to run 31's, the Jeep is NOT my DD (although with the doors off I seem to drive it more often), and I don't do any serious off road - just light trails and gravel roads around one of my properties. Have any of you had that experience with a 2" BB - swaying? mushy ride? Would greatly appreciate feedback, as the price difference is substantial. Oh yeah, I'll be installing a hitch for some light towing soon...Thanks, all.

No... there is no sway with a BB... no mushy feeling.... VERY stable... maintains the stock ride ....he is trying to make a sale. Even if he is a good guy, he still tries to make a buck. lol!!!

I checked into tools needed TnDz TJ, thanks for offering.

Bottom shock bolts are 13mm

Sway bar end link nut is 18mm

Sway bar end link bolt head is a T55

If there is anything else I have to take apart, please let me know.

Thanks!! Yeah, it seems like every recommendation is Pro Comp. I have a Pro Comp steering stabilizer and it seems to do the job just fine. BUt I was considering either Teraflex spacers or BDS, then when I HAVE to replace the shocks getting Bilsteins. Wanna keep it low budget (not necessarily cheap), but more importantly don't want to introduce problems. And 31X10.5X15 is just one size up from my stock tire, and that's really as large as I want to go. THanks again and have a great Sunday!!

Did you do bds spacers or the coils. Just asking b/c I just ordered the bds coils. Please post up some pics if you can.

Cool! Saves me the time by you letting me know...

the only other thing I can think of is the bumpstop bolt which I believe is 1/2" or 13mm.... I think... could be 14-15mm.

Even if you got coils... you can still use this method if you only went 2" coils... even 2.5" would work I assume.

If adding 2" to the front & rear, why 2 different size bump stop extensions?? The reason for the question is I bought the 2" coil spacers and 2" bump stop extensions. Would there be a problem adding 2"BSE front & rear?

I wouldn't think so.... but there is a difference in size... I believe since the rear axle sits much closer to the frame than the front.. thus the shorter bumpstop extension. So you may lose 1/2" of compression of your suspension in the rear.

Well I got it done. It wasn't no 2 hour job for me though. Props to you for getting it done in such a quick time! I do have some vibe, so I'll be dropping the transfer case a bit this week. BTW, no passenger side spring retainer clip here either.

as for vibes, if you need a 1" drop and that solves your vibes... you do have the option of doing a MML and regain that 1" clearance... that's what I did.

Me using this method. Worked great and didn't even need the spring compressor, just had to use screwdriver to get the spring over the hump.

Opposite Sides.

Was it hard getting the bolts loose on transfer case?

Not at all. The 6 bolts on the belly pan came off easy for me. The only issue may be corrosion depending on where you are. Soak em if you can and have to

It's worth noting that dropping the skid will also bring down the t case which will be heavy. Support properly.

VERY true... support the unit just in front of the bellypan with a floorjack

Mine were. I took an impact wrench to them to get them off. Ended up putting in about 1/2" of washers and no more vibes.

A pic would be nice. I'm not quite sure where the washers are needed.
