My tires, coils, and shocks are stock, 45K miles, and after a recent tire rotation and balance, drives better than it ever has. The lift is mainly for a more aggressive stance, would like to run 31's, the Jeep is NOT my DD (although with the doors off I seem to drive it more often), and I don't do any serious off road - just light trails and gravel roads around one of my properties. Have any of you had that experience with a 2" BB - swaying? mushy ride? Would greatly appreciate feedback, as the price difference is substantial. Oh yeah, I'll be installing a hitch for some light towing soon...Thanks, all.
That info is bogus. I installed a BB, an OME steering stabilizer, and had my alignment done by a reputable shop...my TJ rides better than it ever has before.

dsiegel5151 - Thanks. That's why I was asking! This thread and many others seemed to indicate a simple install and an improved ride. 2" BB is on my list!

iam thinking about going with 4wheelcustoms 2.25 bb and a 1.25 bl. now if i get vibes could i just do a mm lift or should i drop the tc? and also what would look better 31s or 32s? pics would be helpful. also with a body lift i would need a different tc shifter braket correct? its all for looks maybe once in a blue moon go off road.

I have a guy who is going to sell me the 2" BB but only the pucks. What else do I need, just the bump stop extensions?

Also, I am going I replace my shocks because I do need them. Should i go ahead and get shocks that are 2" longer?

If you are replacing your shocks at the same time... yes.

YOU NEED BUMPSTOP EXTENSIONS..... if the kit doesn't have them, get them.

Did this, this last weekend. What a difference your method makes. Thanks for the tip. Did 2.25" up front and 1.25" in back. Nice and level now.
Made it real easy.

Did my install of a 4wheel Custom 2.5 BB lift this way, including Rancho Hydro shocks.

Worked out great, but am ashamed that it took me way over 2 hours.
The shocks were the hardest to install because of rusted bolts and positioning of the rear upper bolts.

I also did not have a passenger side spring clip. Looks like one has never been there and after 65k, I am not going to worry about it.

Anyone know why most don't have a passenger side spring clip?

Do you run a soft top or hard top? If a hard top are you level when it is installed?

Why are they needed? Would younmt get more travel without? If tires never hit before, they wouldn't hit 2 more inches?

Think about it... you are not getting a longer spring, you are spacing it out. The compression of the coil doesn't change with a spacer.... so you need to make sure your compression is adjusted properly with bumpstops.

Sorry...I don't get it, but I'll try to figure it out. I thought the bump stops were to stop the wheel from hitting, not for preventing the spring from compressing to far.

Ok...I've been reading lots and I understand now. Thanks for fueling my curiosity. I love learning new things.

Fixed the vibration, just added 7 washers to all bolts including a 1 inch drop that was already on it, had to buy a inch longer bolt from ace for 31 dollars... And doesn't look as bad as i thought it would.

wow, that link to the t-case drop makes it seem very easy. I so badly want to do a full 3.5"-4" suspension lift, but money and the desire to get a better stance NOW are causing me to consider this BB lift.

I already have a 2" BB w/ Bumps that I got from a guy on c/l, along with a JKS 1" MM and JKS 1.25" BL. I really did not want to do the BL, and would also prefer to stay away from the MM for now.

I was hoping to do the BB only and go without anymore mod, but if I do get vibes, that t-case washer drop looks painfully simple and still safe. Yes I understand you lose belly clearance, but I don't plan on doing any off-roading anytime soon.

At the end of the day, I'm just jones'ing to put 33's under it. I'm temped to just go get the 33's now, slap 'em on and then do the BB when I have time. Already have 31's, but when I go home to and park my TJ next to my '00 Dakota up 3" and on 33's, it just looks puny.
