Just thought I would share my install of the 2" Teraflex BB kit I got from Summit Racing for $130 out the door this morning.
I got a great idea on how to get this installed quick and safe . I figured a few ramps with junk disconnected might aid in the process. IT DID!!!
Here is what I started at.... 31's and 18.5" from the ground to the body...
Here is the process I did to get 2" under my TJ in under 2 hours...
1. I Got under it and disconnected the front and rear swaybar endlinks.
2. Drive up ramps with one in front and one in rear at opposite corners to get the axles to flex out.
3. Lift the front wheel NOT on the ramp with a floor jack and remove the wheel. Support the frame with a jackstand behind the LCA.
4. Disconnect lower shock mount and spring retainer clip...lower floor jack to enough to pull the spring out.
5. Remove the bumpstop by pulling on it, then unbolt the bumpstop cup from the spring cup.
6. Place the 2" spacer onto the upper mount and reinstall the bumpstop cup with the extension provided in the kit.
7. Slide spring back into position.
8. Jack up the axle slowly to seat the spring and reinstall the lower shock bolts. Reinstall spring retainer clip.
9. Reinstall wheel and lower completed side to the ground.
10. WAIT UNTIL ALL FOUR CORNERS ARE DONE TO RECONNECT THE FRONT AND REAR SWAY BAR END LINKS.
11. Move to the opposite corner of your Jeep. ( I did right-front first, then left-rear)
12. Follow same basic procedures as front...
Once all four corners are done... reinstall the end links of the swaybars on front and rear.
DONE!!
In less than 2 hours... I was done and back on the road! Now sitting at 20.5" from the ground to the body.
Here is BEFORE...
Here is AFTER...
ENJOY!!!
